Like it or not, without Hull FC we wouldn’t have the MKM stadium, and without the stadium we almost certainly wouldn’t have just enjoyed some of the best years in the clubs history.

Hate them all you like but they have a footnote in our recent success.

Without City FC would not have the MKM. The stadium only got the go ahead after City came on board. It would not have been feasible just for FC. And FC would have been out of business as the Boulevard required so much work doing, work which the council should have insisted on but let slide, they could never have afforded.
Unfortunately far too much notice was taken of rugby fans when building the stadium with nonsense about no segregation and fans swapping ends which meant we had problems when it came to segregating football fans.

I sometimes use the question name the English cities which Have 2 or more football clubs.
1 as a rule often gets missed.
    Any ideas which one?

I think it goes both ways but in Hull FC,s case it would be at the insistence of the council.

Always thought Kingston United would be a good name for a club from Hull.

My mistake. Thought they were in league 2, but it was what was the conference.

At least it would be a level playing field to compete with.

What has that got to do with what I said? I support FC and have done since i was at school. I've had a pass at City for as long as I can remember. Some on here show bitterness towards FC, to me that makes them as bad as the FC fans criticising City. People have personal reasons for supporting other teams.

What personal reasons do FC fans, and Rovers fans, have for supporting Liverpool, Man Utd, Leeds instead of their local football club?

Many reasons. Like family links. Or first game you father took you to. For example my deceased brother in law who was born in Hull has always supported Leeds. The reason being his father supported them as he was originally from Leeds. So in essence many reasons personal to each individual.

I started supporting Hull FC simply because I used to go to Speedway at the Boulevard and it felt like home. Plus Arthur Buntings son used to go to my school South Holderness tragically he was killed in a motorcycle accident in my local village of Preston. that was another tick in the box for watching FC.

Kids are very impressionable at that age and it takes very little to persuade them to support a successful team.
