Cheers mate had never even heard his name until last week, so many of them coming through now it’s hard to keep up!
This was his write up on the website before his 2 goals last week... Felix Scott Scott is a dynamic attacker with a keen eye for goal, capable of playing centrally and in wide positions. Having also joined the club at the pre-academy stage, he has progressed through the age groups, refining his skills along the way. A creative and forward-thinking player, Scott has made 14 appearances this season, scoring one goal and starts as the number 10 in the penultimate PL2 clash.
The 'keen eye for goal' seems to be spot on. Hopefully he keeps his place in the 21s. We must be playing u12s in the u18 teams at this rate
Graeme Murty praised the resilience and drive of his Sunderland Under-21s side after they fought back twice to earn a 2-2 draw with Aston Villa in their final Premier League 2 fixture before the play-offs. The young Black Cats showed tremendous determination at Bodymoor Heath as they came from behind twice against a strong Villa outfit, with Felix Scott again on the scoresheet in a confident display. Reflecting on the result, Murty expressed his pride in the group’s mentality: "The character of this group is outstanding. To go behind twice and still come away with a point against a very good side shows the belief they have in one another. They refused to accept defeat, and that's the kind of mindset we’ll need heading into the play-offs." Scott, who netted his third goal in two games, continued his fine form with a composed finish in the second half – and his head coach was quick to acknowledge the 17-year-old's growing influence. "Felix has really stepped up in recent weeks. He’s showing not only his quality in the final third but also his hunger to keep improving. He’s taken his opportunity brilliantly and is becoming a key player for us at just the right time." With the regular season now complete, all focus shifts to the upcoming play-offs – and Murty believes the desire within the squad to succeed has never been higher. "We know what’s ahead of us and the challenge that comes with knockout football, but the lads are desperate to push on. There’s a real fire in the group. We’ll prepare properly, keep our standards high, and give everything we’ve got." The play-off fixtures will be confirmed in due course, and the club will share full details across official channels once available.
