He didn’t get to the ball because Pring headed the ball as he was about to catch it, as I said if a defender decides to take control of a situation he has to clear it, that’s a basic rule of defending, clear your lines, don’t just knock it into an area an opposition player can score from.

The keeper did not get to the ball because he was incorrectly positioned.

The defender had to attempt to intervene because O'leary was not playing to expectation, in the first half O'leary sweeped similar, in the second half inexplicably when defending a ball that was in WBA half O'leary was sat back on the six yard box. When the ball travelled forty metres O'leary should have been waiting for it. Nobody should have been closer than the keeper to where the ball bounced and where it bounced to. I would expect my U16 keeper to deal with that.

Harsh on Max but you look for it RR!
I think Pring was as much at fault, just one of those things imo. Had a decent game, made a couple of decent saves and kept us in it..
5th in the championship even even with a sh!t keeper <doh> oh and with useless coach (manning ball as you call him) <doh>

O'leary pussied out. City would be superglued into a play off position if it wasnt for Max O'leary.

    Utterly utterly ridiculous.
    Basic rule of defending ?
If it's in the air in the box a keeper has a 4ft advantage over a defender.
O'leary was out of position, I'm afraid if you, 1For and co don't understand give up and stop digging.

I’ve no doubt they (Max and Pring) will be discussing this with Liam at some point before Saturday’s game.
Anyway - I’ll be coming to the Sunderland game on Good Friday so can’t wait!!!

I think it’s more down to not having a team that can finish better.. we’ve done well to get where we are with the players we have

Pring was there because O'leary had switched off. The ball was hoofed from the half way line, bouncing into the box and O'leary was not in anythings way.

i think their doing very very well but O'leary should do better.

Let’s not slate Max too much.
We all know he has a mistake in him but we don’t want him disheartened or lacking in confidence.
He HAS popped up with some critical saves on occasions.
Answer me this; now we are outside the transfer window, who would you choose playing in goal for us?
I don’t even know who our sub GK is.

If that’s the case then (which it could be), why isn’t Pring heading that out for a corner to be safe. It was a nothing header that took Max out, and didn’t clear the ball, it was poor from both of them, but for me, a little worse on Pring.

Do you genuinely not see any fault on Pring? If as you say he saw Max asleep and wasn’t getting to the ball, why not head it out for a corner?

Here is the case. O'leary should be positioned on the edge of the box.

Everything follows O'learys poor decision not to be positioned where expected, and O'leary then creates more indecision by coming for the ball late.

Fair points, but saying all that, do you really not think Pring should have gone safety first and put it out for a corner.

    Ffs Supcon,1For and Ashton.
Pring is nothing in this situation if O'leary is positioned correctly.
He wasn't, beyond words to even mention Pring.
