Now that Man Utd are out of Europe (Europa League doesn't count as far as I'm concerned) will you be cheering on the Champions League's remaining English sides? I would like to see the English sides outperforming their European counterparts but with all the pathetic wumming and ABU's I'm not so sure.
I have a feeling it will be a Bayern/Madrid Final for some reason but I will be rooting for the English teams regardless, although neither are good enough imho
I went for Chelsea only. I can't stand the Arsenal fans who think their side are the dog's bollocks when in fact they are just bollocks. The Chelsea fans that I know aren't so bad.
I barely even noticed that Arsenal are in the Champions League. Even in failure it's all about Manchester.
Countries would have to gain a higher a coefficient than England. Coefficients are over a 5 year period,so it would take some horrible performances from english teams over a long period of time for this to happen.
If I was forced at gunpoint to pick one then it'd be Arsenal. At least they have the right footballing philosophy of spending within their means, and, in that sense, the Champions league is the one competition that Rich owners haven't been able to buy, and I'd rather it stayed that way. Their fans being a bunch of twats would be a small price to pay if it was at the expense of Chelsea.
As a supporter of one of the countries club sides (only just) that is unlikely to ever get into this competition can I say that the majority of football fans throughout the football leagues don't really care if an English club wins this competition or not. The press and media in general dismiss most football in this country in favour of a few clubs and this European money spinner. You yourselves dismiss the domestic cup competitions as irrelevant as in comments made when out of the Carling Cup for example. Why then should the majority of fans give a fig for the competition they are most likely not to be in? Most of the players in the Champion's League are not English or even British despite England having 4 clubs allowed in. Champion's League is by definition for Champions. The fact that Countries have multiple entries in the first place throws that concept out of the window and devalues it. For the neutrals the first love is their own club quite rightly however big or small. The second is for the English national side who they want to see win something. For most there isn't a third.
I'll be rooting for Chelsea as I think they're a lot stronger(Regardless that Arsenal beat them)Also the Arse fans seem to think Uniteds failure somehow makes them able to mouth off even though they've won bugger all for the longest.Saying that, neither will win it.
