The cynical in me says that UEFA don't want the comp being diminished by not having one of the "best players in the world" present. Fab probably said "we can't take him if its 3 games".
Plus, Wayne's agreed to pick up UEFAs rubbish, or whatever the community service for UEFA actually means. I hope it means licking Platini's face all day.

Nike demanded their investment be featured in at least one game...

As HBIC said, the FA need him there for the sponsors, the team however are better off without. Win % - With Rooney 60.3%, without Rooney 71%

Guess that's Rooney in the squad then, especially with our comparatievely easy group.

Personally I would take Sturridge, Welbeck, Defoe and Agbonlahor, with Young and Walcott as midfield possibilities.

Agbonlahor's pony. I'd rather have donkey Carroll go!

I'd take Defoe, Wellbeck, Sturridge and Zamora.

Sturridge should be the first striker on the plane if fit. Then rooney (who would be first if he wasn't banned).
Then we need a "big man". At the moment i guess that would be Zamora, mainly by default as the options are Carroll and Crouch

I think Defoe is too similar to Sturridge to be considered unless their forms change.

I think 4th will be Bent. He can play up on his own (not really as a "big man" though) and he's likely to end the season with 20+ goals and not be on the bench much.

sturridge and Welbeck imo.though Webeck looked really good when he came on.if it's 4 strikers it should be Defoe and Rooney to make the 4

I'm sure that UEFA wouldn't want the competition diminished by not having one of the best players in the world present. That's a given. But what on earth does that have to do with Wayne Rooney?

Hence my quotes <ok>

ffs, totally different competition with different governing bodies. Whats it got to do with QK anyway?

A decent manager/club would have come out and fined/banned Suarez themselves. Its not as if his guilt (in the hand gesture one) is in doubt.

I'm glad that Dalglish has taken this ill-conceived swipe at the FA.
They'll remember that!

Is that the correctly issued red card, that they're not appealing against, Notso?
