I know it doesn't affect us but still, if such a high profile game is being influenced by outside sources then something needs to be done.

    Have a read of this:

    http://www.101greatgoals.com/dinamo...-breakdown-of-the-controversial-goals/120071/

Maybe it's just a case of Dinamo giving up, but at the same time Ajax had a VERY questionable offside call against them in the Real Madrid game. And one of the Zagreb defenders was caught winking at the end of the match. Why are you winking? I'd be disgusted with my performance if I'd just shipped 7 goals at home.
Lyon ended up going through on GOAL DIFFERENCE... hmm.

    Very suspicious. Thoughts?

Couldn't believe Ajax had two blatantly wrong decisions go against them in the same match like that... one of the goals was a cracker as well. So disappointing if it is true that the game was fixed. I would be gutted if I were an Ajax supporter.

    Interesting post !

I believe football is full of corruption even at grass roots football.

Henry Winter said this on Twitter, there may be an inquest into this. Does look a bit suspicious

Yep and I think that first questionable offside decision came when Real were only one up. If the goal had stood, the score at 1-1 would've give the Ajax players a whole different mentality, especially with them at home.

Sorry for the double post but here's some more interesting information written by a member of 101greatgoals (not saying this is all true, but who doesn't love a good conspiracy eh?):

"The deal was made at half time! It’s the most common method of fixing games in Balkans – you see what you need, you make a deal with the other side (not necessary involving money, a favor is just as good) and then they lose the game.

Just look at the second half goals – every time there was a Dinamo’s defender or a goalkeeper on the ball and could’ve easily cleared it, but they always trip on a ghost and fall (the third Lyon goal), or the goalkeeper doesn’t extend his arms until the ball passes him (at least two goals scored that way). Then, after they make a “mistake”, every one of them falls to ground, putting their hands over their faces – probably to conceal a laugh.

Still don’t believe it? Take a look at the pictures. Central defender, Vida, gives the ball to the French striker – the same person caught on camera while exiting the bookies.

But no, Dinamo would never fix a match, their president, Zdravko Mamic, isn’t somebody who’s already being investigated for mass fixing games in Croatia…

I teach at the faculty for sports science, I was also a coach before that, so I’m not just talking without any credentials. Just look at the body language of Dinamo’s players in second half. There’s no positive tension, no eagerness, no aggression – all the symptoms of the team that knows what the end score will be (and must be).

Like I said, I’ve seen a lot of fixed games in ex-Yugoslav countries and by teams coming from them, and this is a textbook example of one.

P.S. I don’t think that the Ajax – RM game was fixed, just bad refereeing, but the score their allowed the deal to be made in Zagreb."

Not sure Lyon would have gone out if those 2 Ajaxs goals weren't disallowed anyway. As the goal difference would have been level and in the head to heads both games were 0-0. Away goals would have been Lyons 7 to Ajax's 2. So I think Ajax would have gone out anyway regardless of there disallowed goals.

I think there's something in this though, places like Zagreb are hard to score (real only got 1) so to get 7 is strange in itself. Then there's everything from the body language of Lyon players (almost not even celebrating their goals), to the Zagreb goalie winking to add to suspicion!!!

having just watched all the goals i would have to concur , something stinks about those goals.

    The defenders make no effort.

The goalie falls over for no reason .

    its all bollocks.

What does that have to do with anything?

A majority of teams in the CL would concede alot to Real. Playing Zagreb is a completely different game.

They could've at least tried to make it look good.
I wonder who lumped on for them when the score was 1-0?

You're missing the point though... Lyon would have had an enormous goal swing to make up given the fact that they had conceded fairly heavily against Madrid. Not saying THAT game was dodgy.

I'm not denying that, it's just the 2 disallowed goals for Ajax have nothing to do with this "fix". As the head to heads were equal and due to 7 goals, the goal difference was equal despite what they shipped in against Real.

Both conceded a total of 6 against Real too.

Football has become corrupted. Is it going to be that hard for the UEFA to find evidence of fraud in a game in which one team scores 7 goals in half an hour without the opponent making a single foul? I've played football at a relatively high level, but I don't know if Lyon could have pulled this off at some of the worst teams I have played against. Yes, Zagreb is not a good team we can all agree on that. But they are good enough to prevent a goal from happening within four minutes after kick-off after the other team has just scored. Yet, in this game that happened six times. During half-time it was 0-2 in Amsterdam and that was reason enough for Lyon to buy the game. You make more than three million for making it to the final 16 and there is hardly any money to be made in the Europa League. This is a dark day for football no matter which team you support.

But if the first wrong decision had stood it was 1-1, it then changes the complexity of the game entirely (much like 2nd half vs Germany in the WC). 1-0 knowing Ajax needed a point to be safe they took more risks and thus conceded more because of it.

Just check the body language of the Lyon players as well.

They don't look like they have scored 7 goals.

I was disappointed that ITV didn't show the questionable offside goals of Ajax in their highlights show last night. I read in dutch forums straight after their game and they were absolutely livid.

    btw:

The picture of the Zagreb player Domagoj Vida leaving some store is quite old, absolutely nothing to do with the alleged match-fixing.

Damn this has match fixing written all over it. Everyone knows how hard it is to beat teams like Dynamo at home let alone Lyon, who aren't the best, winning 7-1 with 6 goals coming in the second half? I was talking to a Real supporter and he said the 2 off-side goals were totally wrong, with one being an atrocious decision.

Mark my words, Lyon has something to do with this. I think it's time for another Fake Sheikh special to get to the bottom of this....

i was mystified as to how Bafetimbi Gomis scored a hat-trick in 7 minutes. He's not the best striker in the world, and Dinamo Zagreb aren't that poor a side. However, i hadn't considered match fixing, until i saw this article. The more i think about it, the more it makes sense.

Could level accusations like that at some Premier League clubs.

Nothing on those vids is enough to say "that was matchfixing". Need exterior evidence.
