Started a game with Stevenge not too long ago. Predicted 24th, finished 10th in my 1st season. Signed some good players actually, including Lee Molyneux (He was outstanding - top assists in the league for a LB!) Just finished my 1st game of the 2nd season and drew away at Notts County. I said top half finish on the expectaions although im vying for a play-ff spot but i didnt want to get too ahead of myself. Gives me something to work towards you see.

Always wise to lower expectations at start of the season - less chance of the disgrace of getting sacked!

Although when you're in the premier league where money runs everything, its always tempting to get ahead of yourself and bring in a few extra players. When i go up from the championship, im usually ambitious and say mid table finish, deppending on the financial capabilities of the club.

I tend to play safe to start with, then change in January if I'm performing above expectations.

Spending money is fun though ;) Thats the only reason why i start with premier league clubs (very rarely) is to spend, spend, spend. Gets boring when you win everything though.

True, I spent 8.25 mill on Wickham, 6 mill on Chamberlain, 4mill on Khedira, 3 mill on Scott Sinclair and Carroll, 2mill on Smithies. That enough money spent for you!

Haha, i got myself a few bargain 3 1/2 and 4 star players with 4 1/2 star potentials for around the 3 to 5 mill mark. Got Wickham for around 10mill i think and played him up top with jay rod or sharp because i had already got those. Rickie kicked off so i let him go.

Got Michael Owen on a free. Crocked for 5 weeks at the moment but did score on his debut versus Birmingham.

In my game Wickham is shocking all he do's is smash it against the bar. Scored 2 goals in 58 games for me.

Deppends on which side of attack you play him, his role, the teams tactics and other players in the team. You cant just blame the player.

What?! If he's done so badly why have you given him 58 games?! Do you rotate at all?

    Alright peeps!

I'm more of a FIFA fan on Xbox 360 but have Football Manager 2010!

Was wondering how good the new FM is?

Am very tempted, is it worth it?

Yeah it's a good improvement. And while I'm at it I might as well recommend PS3 to you as well!

Course I rotate, I said he has only scored 2 in 58 games I didn't say whether it was in one or more seasons etc.
I brought macheda to, first season for me he score 42 in 28 games. Guessing Wickham just doesn't work in my team.

I can't see how you can play Fifa for so long, gets too repatative for me. It's okay when you have mates round and stuff but the manager mode is a bit too dull for me. A bit more freedom for my liking on FM :)

and i thrash you as i did last time we played ;) but i agree, FIFA is very limited in manager mode, especially when you have irresitable FM on your laptop just waiting for you

Wickham is one of those players who will vastly improve on FM, like Chamberlain. I've got both of them and they are bloody brilliant together. Chamberlain on the right and Wickham the lone striker in a 4-2-3-1.
