There is no quick fix. For Liverpool to be able to challenge for a Champions League place, they HAVE to up the capacity to at least 60,000. At the moment, Liverpool are still a massive worldwide marketing product especially in Asia, but recently this shows signs of declining (shirt sales down 20% whilst Man City shirt sales have quadrupled in Asia this season).
Having a 60,000 ground has no bearing on qualifying for the CL,it might surprise you but we've been to two finals(winning one),semi finals, quarter finals etc without the need for 60,000 gates.
You are probably right, then again, having a midfield of Henderson, Spearing and Adams - doubt if you'd fill a 60,000 seater
Perhaps you have a problem understanding cause and effect? If we scored more goals we would win more matches, because in every other department the team is functioing fine. If we won more matches then the other things you seem so concerned about would right themselves anyway. Or perhaps you're just a wum and reasoned debate is not on your agenda? In which case good luck, I'm not interested.
So what you are basically saying is you need to buy s forward that will score goals OR More investment in the squad? More modern manager that won't waste £35M on a Championship player?
I meant squad depth, for the right positions as you cannot have quality cover in every position, so make sure you do the important positions. Striker\CM CB\RB\LB the rest you can 'manage' with and get points. We maybe should have takebn the points at Fulham but if Lucas was fit, we most likely would have at least taken a point if not all 3. I think Suarez gets the ball with too much to do too far from goal, someone needs to start finding this guy in the box where he can do damage.
Whose fault is it that you are relying on Suarez to score your goals? Wasn't that what Carroll was bought for? Doesn't Kuyt usually chip in with 10-15 goals a season (when being played).
the team of course, look at other teams, the other 8 players chip in. Was it not Jones that got the Villa winner for United. The rest need to start chipping in with goals, we get fk all from setpieces too. Cannot blame it all on carroll, Downing has had a few opportunities he has wasted badly. Kuyt should have a couple more. Adam should have one or two more as well as big Andy, all have been misfiring, so to say we are depending on Suarez too much is definately an outside view of out situation.
not a lot of use for Pace when teams come to Anfield and sit back in the space with nowhere to run into. Pace won't help us with **** poor finishing of which our league position is the direct result we are 3rd or 4th amount of created chances in the league, %wise and we are something like 17th at taking them % wise
Assuming that the OP isn't just rolling in for a WUM... ... the answer is not a lot. OptaJoe piped up just after the Fulham game to say that if ALL 'hit woodwork' shots for all PL teams had gone it, Liverpool would have been 6 points off Citeh, not 15. We've been denied by the woodwork 12 times in the league this season. We've been that close. We're not doing a heck of a lot wrong, other than sticking it in the ole' onion sack. So we don't need to change a huge amount...
More of a joke at the poster Dave Schofield who always bangs on about pace is what we lack. I think it is a clear someone to finish, maybe some more width, and probably a stop-gap DM/CM or depending on Gerrard, a new one altogether as I really don't trust Hendo in there.
You aren't scoring enough goals because you took a £100M+ gamble on two Strikers, and so far that has not paid off. Suarez and Carroll are both good Players, but that is nowhere near enough, two more Strikers are needed, not for back up or to replace, but to compete/compliment. Pacy ones of course!
