Thought Dawson did well yesterday. When City are allowed to pass it about, like we were in the first and first 15 minutes of the second half, it's good to see Dawson bomb forward and help out the attack and create some more width. There was some sloppiness, granted, in the second half when we didn't give him much cover on the right, which played into Burke's hands. I was very shocked to see him get taken off. For the last 10 minutes he had the beating of Dawson. The yellow was a correct decision, it was a professional foul, allowing everybody in a City shirt to get back into position. Watch Mckenna he does it loads in the centre, then like all decent central midfielders, he bollocks someone else for giving away the foul.
McKenna's was a bit professional but for Dawson's it was in the middle of their half and everyone was behind Dawson. There didn't seem any need to for a card at all to me.
i like having dawson in there to bring a bit of experience to a young side....dudgeon was poor at saints, so dawson was given a chance and imo has done little wrong, and i think dudgeon will have to be patient to win his place back.
Dawson had got caught upfield because the move broke down and took one for the team. I thought Daws played well yesterday. Burke looked very good but created little because Daws handled him so well. Even when Burke beat him, Daws made sure he worked him hard enough that he couldn't get an easy cross in. I was surprised Dudgeon was left out, though Burnley 2nd half was a horror show, but I wouldn't bring him back now. Shame for Dudge but competition is healthy.
If Dawson can't handle a player he just grabs hold of their shirt , he does it all the time , you aren't allowed to do that in football as far as I'm aware
