Take a look where you’re living
You got the army on the street
And the RUC dog of oppression
    Is barking at your feet.

I’m not normally crude, but when I was younger I would’ve shagged Wendy James until my knob fell off.

This thread is a great mix of old memories and discovery, there's some great posts and I find myself 'liking' almost everything ...

... music is wonderful isn't it, not sure what I'd do if I had to choose between dropping that or football.

'Well I Wonder' by the Smiths always stops me in my tracks.

The song is all about lost love and the video clip matches perfectly despite not being official.

It's from a French film, Elevator to the Gallows, starring Jeanne Moreau and self explanatory. It's one of the finest pieces of 'acting without words' I've ever seen as she goes from urgency and hope to total demoralisation.

I know the football or music thread popped up on the SMB quite a few years back. I came down on the side of music. As much as I love football and SAFC I could live without it. I couldn’t live without music though.

Not sure if anyone remembers this guy, but before one of our recent home games when Sunderland celebrated becoming an official music cit they had a great singer performing before kick off called Patrick Gosling, me and my mate decided to go to his gig at Pop Recs a couple of weeks ago and what a great night it was, this is my favourite song of his about the Alum Ale House in South Shields :emoticon-0103-cool:

That's a bit repetitive, but a catchy tune . . . . the Alum used to be our favourite pub until the current manager, Geoff, ruined it . . . . I know of a couple of dozen who stopped going because of his mismanagement, unfortunately. If only he had a mirror :emoticon-0112-wonde

I'm presuming that Pat Gosling is a Sandy 'cos of the small reference to 'The Alum' and he sounds okay :emoticon-0148-yes:

I don't usually go in for 'corny Country' music but there's something infectious and joyous about this.

It may be that the singer reminds me of a beautiful ex-girlfriend, Zoé, who was a dead ringer ...

... she'd switch between super-sweet to manic, like when the singer eats, in a second.

    Scary but exciting <whistle>

Everyone delighted in telling me that, including my boss tbh ...

... she was a beautiful girl but, sadly, the timing wasn't right.

After twenty years I can still spell out her address and phone number.

Seventy years old today. Happy birthday Angus McKinnon Young. Here he is at his best. If we ever decide to change our run out music I’d vote for this one.

No way I'd want a mag singing our run out music mind.

This is the video footage of the opening song off the If You Want Blood album. Bought the album in 1980, and still one of my favourite live albums. Was great to see this, putting visuals to the audio.

    Happy Birthday Angus.

She played in Perth a few years back. Her partner at the time was also her guitarist. He is/was also a supporter of our fine team and posted on the SMB, I think as Hillbilly Black Cat. Anyway there was another poster on the SMB with the initials HBT. Me and HBT got to know each other through living out here. HBT was ballsy enough to send a message her partner (the guitarist). The upshot was that he got a couple of free tickets to her show and we stayed behind for a couple of beers afterwards with the partner.

Brilliant that EJK <ok> Her music may not be everyone's choice but she has some voice on her
