Top scorer remembercolinlee with 10 points. Says it all really. Billy The Spur takes top spot. One player failed to predict. After the International break we have our least favourite fixture On the 1st April 2018 we won at Stamford Bridge 3 - 1 with goals from Dele and Eriksen It will be 7 years almost to the day when we play this fixture, and that was the last time we won there. Happy predicting. So after no games for a couple of weekends, here we go with a double whammy, playing both midweek and weekend. In the meantime, I have been reminiscing about Spurs teams of the past (I started supporting them 80 years ago this year!). That had the effect of setting up a lingering longing for some success – however small! – to recreate that feeling of achievement, which we’ve been missing for too long. I’m not one of those who demand trophies. I prefer having a team it’s good to watch. But it’d still be nice to win something, wouldn’t it! So this grand old song came into my mind, and the magnificent Judy G singing it. I really pray our dreams manage to come true within – let’s say – two years from today. You see, I am a patient man, after all! Somewhere out in west London, There’s a ground where the Spurs won Once in the years gone by. Home team there in west London, play in blue; But the hopes that we share for Spurs Sometimes have come true. Sometimes I dream we’ve progressed far So we’ve climbed up and Arsenal are…. Behind us. Where Liverpool and Chelski drop - And we are at the PL top - I’d love to find us! Sometimes back in my young days we flew high! Now it’s Bournemouth and Forest Happy - so why aren’t I?! If dodgy little Palace fly and make the Euros - Why oh why can’t I?! Prediction: Chelski 2 Spurs 2 Scorers: Bergvall, Solanke Cheers, Spurf! (Right now, a draw would be an achievement!)
Brilliant as usual audrey and continuing thanks for your amazing contributions. On the rainbow song, I used to sing it as a small boy. Then as an adult I heard this version and it brings tears. Eva Cassidy was magnificent and like many great talents left us far too young.
This was the version my daughter - quite a singer herself! - got addicted to back in the day! Such a simple, heart-rending song. Thanks for posting it - I'd actually forgotten about it. Beautiful.
