This. Whichever rag prints this story is going to be one of the considerable factors that led to Gary Speed's suicide. Congratulations, you managed to flog a few papers at expense of a mans death.

Hope whichever newspaper it is quickly goes under. If this is true.

 

Agreed its in terrible taste to print that story, that said, there's no way that was the driving force behind him taking his own life. If the story were false, I can't imagine he'd care enough about a story with no truth hitting the headlines, and if the story is true, its the truth that would have broken his heart - not that it was being published. Regardless, nobody will ever truly know what personal demons drove him to commit suicide.

Only thing worse than your wife having an affair is the entire world knowing your wife had an affair with a former team-mate.

Could have tipped him over the edge, he was never one for the media frenzy lifestyle. Being hounded by the media whilst trying to decide what to do about his marriage etc, could have decided it would be too much.

I hope its not true either. I just don't buy the depression card though, something must of happened. I also find it suspicious that he hung himself in the same house his wife was in and she never found him until 7am. There must have had a blazing row about something for her to be ignoring him and not noticing until that time.

Call me a sceptic but there must be more than meets the eye with this one, I hope not but something doesn't add up!!

Very few actual decent papers left. The Guardian used to be but they have disgraced themselves since the whole wikileaks cable release code scandal and have been stooges to the western propaganda machine since.

She supposedly hadn't seen him since that Saturday night though, surely she would have wondered where he was if they were in the same house. You might be right mate but I just think the truth will come out in this one eventually. Whether that for the best or for the worst time will tell!!

Supposedly,no details have been released as to his movements the night before. I read he ended up in the house alone on the Saturady night and thats when he took his life. She came home later that night and didn't find him until 7am. Thats the bit I find strange, surely she would have look for him when she came home if he wasn't in bed and knowhere to be seen??

 

Who knows what state there marriage was in...... Personally, i slept in the spare room for the last 6 months and me and the Ex spoke about 3 times in that whole time.......best nights sleep ive had in years!!!!!!

Depression is a mental condition that attacks the brain and influences the cognitive process on a fundamental level. It doesn't listen to reason.
