The 30yo, on loan from Bournemouth has made 23 starts (and 12 from the bench) for the Whites this season, contributing four assists. As far as Leeds fans are concerned, his speciality lies within dead ball situations; an aspect where Leeds constantly struggle to make an impact. Whilst not excelling, the former Manchester Utd rookie has been steady, picking up a respectable 6.79 'Whoscored' rating, placing him 13th in their roster. The step-up to the top flight may be stride too far, even if he becomes a free agent in the Summer. Agree re Rothwell. Only player we have who can take a set piece. Creswell couldn't care less. Had years to prove himself same as Joffy and ailed. Best of luck to them wherever they end up. Players couldn't give a toss about the club when they move so feeling is mutual as far as Im concerned
Morning all This time last year results took a serious downturn, Rutter and Summerville were not scoring or creating goals and we had relied on them up to this stage This time around we have more players who can chip in, we have a stronger bench, I read too that Ampadu is nearing a return There is only ONE person who needs to learn a lesson from last season and that is Farke He seriously needs to look at those returning from international duty and if any of them need an extended rest this weekend then give it to them. Firpo played yesterday but didn't feature in the first two friendlies, the game might have done him good as he had a 10 day rest between. James, Tanaka and Solomon are the concerns, Aaronson was allowed to visit family in America so he should be rejuvenated. Three points against Swansea please to get us back on track
Do we though? I feel that we are as reliant on Solomon and James that we were on Summerville and Rutter?
We have options in Ramazani and Gnonto although he sounds like he is returning with an injury. There is no reason or excuse why we cannot rest Solomon and Tanaka against Swansea and next game rest James by using Ramazani and we can rest Tanaka by playing Rothwell and Gruev It's a long old journey for Swansea, we should be too strong for them, even resting a couple of players, on the back end of an International break, home to Swansea and away to Luton with a week between is a nice looking two fixtures, we have to and should be taking 6 points
The bigging up of Creswell is really a blatant effort to tempt Doc back, Ell may as well have offered to tickle his balls for him. Watched him in the Premier League for us and, whilst decent enough never thought he had the pace to be top drawer. Tellingly, if he was such a bargain for Toulouse, why did no Premier League teams come in for him? £ 3.8M is peanuts to all of them but no-one took the chance. Morning all by the way
Agree with the above on Creswell - he may become a solid player, he's a proper old school central defender but you don't see too many of them in the PL. You can't teach mobility. I like Rothwell but where Prutton is missing the point, for me, is how his style of play suits the system. We play with a 9,10 and two wide men... so an attack minded 8 can be too high risk away from home.. and results reflect that. Not saying he's not good enough, but something else has to give way to play him. We have a good mix of attributes with our 4 central midfielders, and it's the one area where Farke is happy to shuffle the pack to the circumstances. In terms of PL ready? Well he spent his prime years at Blackburn and then couldnt hold down a place at Bournemouth. He's a good player, but is he a starter in a 'surviving' PL side? I'd be ok with him as a squad player, if he's free and on a relatively short contract, which at 30 is all it should be. Reliance on Solomon and James? We have been as they won the starter battle. but i think Gnonto has been a bit unfortunate.. i don't feel we've weakened the side if he plays. Obviosuly depends on his fitness. Jury still out on Ramazzani.
Goodluck to Cressy but as Eire said not bothered anymore hes gone and pointless talkimg about the ifs or buts. As we are still top im being positive this season and until we end up in 3rd place i will only start thinking other things. We arent on a wobble ok we only won 1 in 4. The game against west brom was actually a good point end of the game the Qpr game was just a poor start but we clawed it back and should of won at close of play. The pompy game was the only game we could say yeah thats not good enough. 8 games to go still in pole position id of taken rhat at the start of the season Gnonto is a blow but not massive as he wasnt even starting anyways so its debatable we have lost a starting 11 player. Positivity from me all the way.
… yeh agree he started to look good. He has something about him but thought he faded in games before his injury, and has looked off it since. Very stop start season for him though and hard to judge him on largely 5 minutes cameos.
