I thought he had a great game tonight, some lovely touches on the ball, good runs, good energy. Very close to my man of the match.

I think playing him on the right is adding to his game, and he interviewed well after the game.

He usually gets his fair amount of criticism on here, so credit where it's due.

Agreed mate, think he's been one of our better players recently, scored a few important goals this season including tonight's (despite it being fortuitous).

Only thing i'd say is that i'm not sure he meant some of them great touches tonight, one or two definitely but there was a large element of luck in a couple! Not that i'm complaining!

Corry Evans is a bit of a unsung hero I feel, IMO he was man of the match, battled all night long. Top player

Koren was always going to get the popular man of the match vote at the ground, but Evans was mine.

Mclean under barmby will be better as we are looking to get the ball to our strikers more

Glad to hear these comments and I echo them. I thought he was really excellent even before his goal and when I said this aloud a few people around me laughed, saying he was awful. I honestly wonder which game they were watching, it's like they decide who is playing well based on their previous thoughts of them rather than actually using their eyes.

I guess they only value a forward who scores, not one who plays his socks off for 90 minutes (and maybe does/ maybe doesn't score).

Nick sees Aaron in a way NP didn't and has found a way for him to contribute with the speed and skill he has.

I Disagree he gives the ball away too much. Yes he does a lot of work off the ball but so does McKenna. I would prefer to have Oli in there instead.

I have to disagree with this, Mclean on the first half was very poor he was running into areas not allowing Rosie any space and he was poor on the right. But to be fair to him he isn't a winger and as soon as he went up top he was definately far better and looked a good striker, which he is.

I had to give my ticket away last night due to work so I didn't see his performance, but it sounds like he had a game similar to the one against West Ham. Against 'Ham is played like a player I never knew we had, his work rate was great but it usually is. His passing, first touch and awareness of the players around him was amazing. Pitty he didn't score in that game. Keep it up McLean.

Mclean must be terrible to play against, he's like a frog(and I don't mean a French bloke), he jumps about all over the place. Some of his touches are bloody terrible, but some of the other stuff he does is great, he'll never be a top striker, but he can be very effective. He'll definitely get more and more popular, but I suspect our impending new striker addition may see him dropped to the bench.

Now Barmby has taken the shackles off them it 's almost as if we have a load of new players. I bet not many of them would prefer to have Pearson back.

So far, I've only heard the names of the keepers we're looking at, nothing on the strikers other than we were considering a loan move for Macheda(but that one seems highly unlikely, there's too much Premier League interest).

    I like Mclean.

I think he was aware of some of the criticism (some deserved) from fans and he's just got his head down and continued to work hard and it's starting to pay off. There's no doubt in my mind he's improved as a player over the last few months and he's probably my favourite player.

I think McClean is quality, not the most skilled, but his enthusiasm and commitment are 110%. People say that is not enough to warrant a starting place, I disagree, his work rate and willingness to chase lost causes is an infectious habit, and you can see other players, that wouldn't normally put in that effort stepping up to the plate and getting stuck in. Skill will only get you so far if you don't have the application (look no further than Bullard for a fine example, skilful, but 90% of the time couldn't be arsed) give me a McClean in the team every time. He's a player who you know is going to give the opposition a work out with his energy, effort and commitment. This season he's not scored many, but the goals he has scored have netted us some very important points.
