Indeed, and Canada is not just Commonwealth, but Commonwealth Realm (still has King as head of state)... I don't think Trump wanted to join the realm, just the commonwealth.

Maybe trump would like the Commonwealth as a multi layered 51st State

Then have an influence on over half the planet

They haven't though what they announced were changes to the criteria which they estimate will save £5bn in the future .Hasn't produced estimated savings the previous times it has been done and i see no reason to suppose they will this time

Well he went on to say alot more than that and in detail, and tbph I think he's right, they are being a bunch of ****s, and as per normal for all these parties pick on the poorest in society. As he said, he never thought he would see a Labour Party do this. All it does is move the cost elsewhere, so you never get your savings.

We all know the problems caused by covid, we all know the problems within the NHS, caused by the Tories, we all know the failings of mental health, so what do Labour do, take away winter full payments and then start on the benefit system, because that ticks boxes for some people, yet if the Tories had done it, people would have been crying about it and loudly.

I will tell you exactly what will happen duggie, like I warned raising the pension age wouldn't work and would back fire on them....what will happen is GP's and front line Nurses will pick up the problem that is created by the cuts, I'd add mental health services to that, but that's pretty much ****ed anyway for sure now.

The trouble with all these cuts are they are false savings.

I am beginning to wonder if Rachel from Complaints has been stitched up, Labour knew or at least should have known about the £20b gap between what they would spend and how much there was to spend, caved into the Unions before their seats were even warm, that Minister has now gone surprise, surprise and Starmer can now claim that not only was their a black hole in the Treasury that no one knew about but he had to promote inexperienced Ministers into top positions and pray that in four years time he has got something right and enough people forget about the carnage he has caused so far to vote them in again

The real problem is that the more this Government ****s up the more people will be tempted to move to Reform, unless of course Reform shoot themselves in all eight feet and disappear into the night without a trace (hopefully)

If I'm understanding it right, there's now another £10B hole, that Rachel from accounts is trying to put right, due to what's happened since her original budget. <laugh>

Apparently forecasters reckon this will not fix it, because of the way she is going about it, and come winter austerity really will be knocking on the door.

I'm beginning to think she's another Truss, aint got a ****ing clue what she is doing, I hope for the sake of this country, I'm wrong. The comparison has already been made in the media, but I ignored it, because it's probably right wing to think like that.

If she comes good I will praise accordingly...I'm just not seeing it at the mo, and she is pissing off a hell of a lot of people.

Well she said in an interview to all the job losses in the civil service and NHS England, she wants them all on the frontline, I think she could be front of that queue after tomorrow.

    WTF she's dropped a clanger <laugh>

She's been told her figures are wrong and they only equate to £3.5B of cuts not £5B....so Rachel from accounts has well and truly ****ed up and will be introducing...you've guessed it...MORE CUTS!

For clarity the budget watchdog has told ministers Rachel Reeves welfare cuts are short by £1.6B of what she planned. Oh dear.

I think Labour are just looking at things all wrong.

    Same as the Tories did.

The national finances are a convoluted, insane mess. Simplifying the system would be a massive help for everyone, government and businesses included.

Removing for example NI and business NI and just having a straight forward income tax would be an instant change.

I'd also abolish a metric **** ton of VAT exemptions.

Tbh to make things cheaper for the average Joe, I'd also abolish the TV licence fee.

Btw, gaming the system with dividends? Not anymore. Dividends is now just income, it's taxed as income tax.

Gambling needs to be taxed heavily, if cigs n that stuff is? Why isn't gambling?

Legalize marijuana and tax it, let British farmers grow it and tax it.
