Not too fussed about the domestic game (although if Hull had a decent side I'd go) but a good game of international (proper) rugby is pure theatre. No better sporting spectacle imo
The average RU attendance is higher than the league one. watched a bit of Bristol Bears on Saturday. Over 20,000 there. Saw Saracens v Harlequins which was staged at Spurs stadium 55,000. Was reading in France the TV figures for union club games are 50% higher than for Lique 1 games.
Had one of our Xmas do’s at the Circle many years ago when a Union side was based there so quite a few of them were in the bar . We had an associate who decided that taking on the Union players was a fun idea , he could take his front teeth out before the scrap started , the rest of us couldn’t ! There are some really big lads in those Union teams, he liked to go in town in a Saturday night for a scrap !!
FC's started unexpectedly good, they even thought themselves it'd take at least a season to get on track. Fair do's to 'em, hopefully make the Derbies more interesting.
