Back by (no) popular demand! A look a head to the run in to the season starting with the five fixtures before the final five! 10 fixtures remaining in our season - including the postponed game in hand against Palace - and it's all look tighter than a nuns proverbial! Table: Pos Team Played Won Drawn Lost (GD) Points 1 Liverpool 29 21 7 1 (+42) 70 2 Arsenal 29 16 10 3 (+29) 58 3 Forest 29 16 6 7 (+14) 54 4 Chelsea 29 14 7 8 (+16) 49 5 Manchester C 29 14 6 9 (+15) 48 6 Newcastle U 28 14 5 9 (+9) 47 7 Brighton 29 12 11 6 (+6) 47 8 Fulham 29 12 9 8 (+5) 45 9 Aston Villa 29 12 9 8 (-4) 45 10 Bournemouth 29 12 8 9 (+12) 44 Don't think there is much chance of catching Forest who are 7 points ahead in 3rd place currently but Chelsea (4th) and City (5th) are a point or two ahead in the Champions League places while we are level with Brighton (7th) and two points ahead of Bournemouth and Villa although we have a game in hand on everyone. Fixtures: Brentford (Home) - 2/4 Leicester (Away) - 7/4 Man U (Home) - 13/4 Palace (Home) - 16/4 Aston Villa (Away) - 19/4 Three home games in there and four teams in the bottom half of the table (granted 11/12/13th (and 19th)) but its a fast turn around with 5 games in 17 days so hopefully the lads all come back from international duty (and cup celebrations) fit and firing for the run in. Personally think this run is massively important as we have the chance, with the game in hand and decent fixtures, to leap frog Chelsea and City into the CL places who both have extra cup games to compete with during these dates, in the Europa Conference and FA Cup respectively, and potentially steal a march on them for the run in to the league. How many points will we rack up and can you tell I've not had much on today?
Got a bit spazzy and thought these were the odds for a second and thought why would it be 13/4 to beat Man U?!....which whilst a mistake was also a nice indication of how bad Man U are. Should win the first 4 and I'll predict a draw with Villa, so 13.
I think we'll beat Villa. 2nd half of the season Palace are pretty good, so we may struggle with that one...
Brentford (Home) - loss Leicester (Away) - Win Man U (Home) - win Palace (Home) - draw Aston Villa (Away) - win
When we played Brentford early in the season they won every home game and lost every away game, now they're doing the opposite when we're playing them at home, gah. Anyone know if Gordon's knackered for a while or not? Time for Barnes and Osula to step up of so.
I read that Gordon's knock isn't too bad. He's suspended for Brentford anyway so hopefully ready to go for Leicester. Barnes did alright in the cup final, so should be fine for Brentford
Yeah Barnes's confidence is probably up a bit now, I still wanna see more of Osula though, so Barnes starting and Osula replacing him in games, or vice versa.
