If it's imminent, stand under a very bright light and drink some bleach ... I have it on very good authority that this is the most effective protection against any form of globalized onslaught ... <ok>

The Republicans are trying to down play it this morning, saying 'It won't happen again' lol

Trump is denying he knows anything about it <laugh>

and one of his earlier quotes directed at Hilary Clinton has come back to bite him on the arse HIAG style

"We can't have someone in the Oval Office who doesn't understand the meaning of the word confidential or classified,"

In the messaging group, Pete Hegseth, Mike Waltz and JD Vance were found to be slating Europe too

At one point in the thread the JD Vance account, the name of the vice-president, griped that the strikes would benefit the Europeans, because of their reliance on those shipping lanes, adding: "I just hate bailing Europe out again."

The user identified as Pete Hegseth, the defence secretary, responded three minutes later: "VP: I fully share your loathing of European free-loading. It's PATHETIC."

They are entitled to their opinions, but sharing this stuff on a messaging group, as well as detailed military info about their strikes on Yemen is really slack. The fact that they (accidently) invited a journo to the group is alarming really, as the journo said 'they got lucky it was me' and not somebody who could use it to compromise operations, or feed info to an adversary.

I wonder how long Putin has left in power tbh. He's 72 and he must be knackered. On the other hand, the devil protects his own I guess.

I can't see him stepping down, he's got bigger plans. He'll sit on his hands for the next four years, then have another pop. Important that the UK and Europe are ready for the next time - not that I want us to get involved, I don't, but let's not just be a sitting duck and get our act together, so it at least makes Putin apprehensive, if that's even possible.

Yeah, I don’t see him retiring either - tyrants don’t usually hand over power willingly. They often get removed by someone in their own inner circle; who knows though? The Russians got rid of a Tsar just over a century ago…

I don't really know anything about all the next in line so to speak, be interesting to know if there is someone lurking there waiting to take his place, and is their view of Russia or the old USSR any different to Putin's for the future. Lots of unknowns.
