He fails at Liverpool. They want our best player. Why on earth would we take him as part of a swap deal? Makes no sense whatsoever.
I've just watched the video and actually I don't think Owen said anything bad at all and the nunez part was a joke. The media are peddling this as much as possible because they're desperate to unsettle and see the move happen. It's anyone but Newcastle Richard Keys mentality and we have to just learn to ignore it. Nobody knows what will happen, but I don't think Newcastle have any intention to sell, and will be spending a good chunk this summer, without any key players being sold.
This. I wouldn’t be surprised if Isak signs a new contract. That secures him and his value. If we can just get into the top 5 and then the summer becomes stage 2 of the big signings.
Highlight of todays nonsense: Cash strapped Barcelona want Isak, and get this, and Tonali! Do these people ever realise what they are writing? Barcelona are circling the administration drain yet they think they can afford around £180-200m for the pair? It’s bizarre they even write this bollocks, just go make a cup of tea or do something useful with your life!
I've decided that it's just nice to have players that other clubs are interested in, it's been a while since we did (Cabaye being the last one?) If we can get get CL this season and next, then i think the narrative will change from "our best players must move" to "our best players could move".
Are there any players who have played for us this season who are worth less than what we bought them for because they were bad buys? Only ones I can think of are due to age and I'm OK with that (Wilson, Trippier and Almiron)
I don't think he's worth a huge amount less. Still young, very frequently contributes when coming off the bench. I would not be surprised to see a bid in the mid £30m's for him based on other prices for British players recently.
Only one in my mind would be Target - Bought for £15m and he's managed 30 app's in 3 seasons. Year remaining on his contract so we would do well to get much back for him let alone cut our cloth. I know you said "play for us this season" and he's managed 4 apps...
More importantly what big players have we sold since the takeover? I see so much bollocks social media, not just Isak but Hall to the dippers, Tino to city - we sold our 5th choice CM for PSR but haven’t done anything else to weaken the squad.
ASM would have still got gametime for us but him going did allow Gordon to get the starts he needed and the mighty Barnes has been an adequate replacement I'm sure you'll agree.
Pre takeover we didn’t have an awful lot to actually sell. The only decent player I can think of is Anderson. Wood maybe but he was clart for us. ASM? Jonjo?
Willock Joelinton Wilson Mike Ashley did bring in some decent players towards the end of his ownership, but the manager and staff were tripe.
Read we’ve pre-agreed a deal with 18 year old Malaga winger Antonio Cordero. Looks a top talent, this sort of signing is really exciting.
So are we now saying Mike Ashley did better than he got credit for? Recruitment perhaps not being bad and simply let down by not hiring better managers and coaches?
