They were still during the negotiations as it was a 3 phased ceasefire. Which is why Netanyahu and friends tried to use it as evidence of breaking the ceasefire.

Even then, the point stands that if negotiators want peace, then they should look beyond the pantomime and theatre of posturing and not let it derail peace talks

No that's a misunderstanding. Whilst the stages were ongoing, the negotiations had concluded and the ceasefire process was agreed. The dates are openly available, each stage was not negotiated separately like you're suggesting it wasn't phase 1 concluded, let's negotiate phase 2. It was all three stages agreed beforehand.

The agreement was drafted in May 2024
Agreement was sealed January 15th, 2025.
It went into effect January 18th, 2025.
And it expired March 18th, 2025.

The hostage handover went ahead after negotiations concluded, all three phases were agreed by both parties in 2024 and went into effect January 2025, any shows, bombings, deaths, etc post that date break the agreement, any delays, delayed the agreement.

Both sides have pages n pages of ceasefire violations, but Hamas' provocation during hostage handovers and botched handovers were absolutely after and not during negotiations.
