Oh dear United knocked out of the easiest group! Crisis at United! What a pathetic Champions League showing from United - they really should have won the group.
They shouldn't be allowed to play in the europa league, what a stupid rule that is allowing teams that finish 3rd in a group to play in the Europa League.
Completely agree, it's ridiculous. Just devalues the Europa League and why should teams in the Champions League get two bites of the European apple?
They shouldn't be allowed in the europa league. It should be you're knocked out that's it. It makes the europa league a joke, teams have played a hell of alot of games to get where they are. Then teams like manc u and city are placed in it for playing ****. It makes no sense.
Yeah! Fulham have been slaving their arses off since July in the Europa and someone like Valencia could just waltz in and end it all.
Have always thought you shouldn't go to the Europa League, just money for the big boys. According to Sky, Evra said it was embarassing to be in the Europa...demonstrated he is up himself and also managed to insult all the teams in the Europa League at the same time.
Last time Manchester United didn't make it to the knock-out stages, Benfica were in their group and they made it through. Same thing's happened again... To be honest, i'm glad both Manchester teams didn't make it through. Might hopefully keep their feet on the ground a bit more, make them realise they're not the world beaters they think they are. Real Madrid are without doubt the team to beat. 100% record in their group. 6 out of 6 wins, 18 points out of 18, 19 goals scored and 2 conceded. This achieved in a group with the likes of Ajax and Lyon, no push overs themselves. It seems Real are smashing it up right now!
Aside from my complete indifference to whether any Manchester team exists or not, yes, a team should exit a competition completely and not be slotted into another as a compensation. The teams who are in it, on merit, deserve to be there and they won't enjoy having their competition devalued by failed Champions League teams who say things like: "It's embarrassing to play in the Europa League." Well, if it's embarrassing, do the honourable thing and withdraw, whether it brings them up against the regulations of the contest or not.
Probably something to do with the Glazer's. Although as they will now lose something like £10m, it's backfired a bit. You can bet they won't be spending big in January/Summer.
Fergie tried to sign Wesley Snijder in the summer. Replacing Scholes and Giggs certainly won't be cheap.
Sneijder is over rated, they need a battler in midfield. Some one like mvila who is class and only young.
Might we all have been confused with people who care? My wife said to me that I should be able to understand the disappointment felt by United fans (City are never mentioned) and this made me reflect. Losing two European Cup Finals, and winning only one is obviously a bit like being relegated twice, being docked 10 points and facing the real prospect of going out of business. We should really stop gloating about the demise of these two multi-millionaires (tee hee!)
