Explanation:
I always feel its best to have players playing in their proper positions so everyone knows their job regardless of how **** or out of form they may be, its easier to instruct on tactics and prepare players for games when they are comfortable with the position they have been given.

This will be a great chance to introduce Santon for the hapless Ryan Taylor and also a massive chance for both Perch and Kadar to prove themselves and I'd like to think they would be giving 100% to the cause for this very reason.

Obviously Gutierrez should slot straight back in at LM because he works tirelessly helping out the defence and offers us something different going forward and most importantly isn't Peter Lovenkrands.

Tiote would be starting in place of Guthrie if hes fit but I havent seen anything so they central two stays the same.

Obertan is **** but we lack any other natural RM's.

I wasnt impressed with Ben Arfa against Chelsea and I haven't been since he started playing again, let him earn his place I say. Also I think Ba plays better when he is with another striker (that isn't shola) him and Best have linked up well at the start of the season and I'm not fully convinced about Ba when he plays up front alone.

Having said this when Tiote is fit I would be tempted go play Ba alone up front still and and introduce a central pairing of Tiote, Cabaye and Guthrie to help cover the weakened defence against better opposition.

 

I think its unfair to judge HBA based on his past 3 starts given the fact none of the attacking players have looked very good in those matches. Actually, in saying that, I think Hatem was the best attacking player against Man City. That said, Best and Ba had a great partnership until Leon's injury, so its hard to say he doesn't deserve back in the side assuming he's healthy again.

 

If Tiote is fit he HAS to slot back in. Defence needs protection, plus he gives Cabaye the freedom to play. Notice Cabaye has been much quieter since Cheick's injury.

I'd go with GBB's team. Ba and Best work really well up top together, we've missed that partnership.

 

Tiote is out, Guthrie has to sit in front of the back 4 and for me, Santon has to play, best fit defender available.

Normal midfield and strike force. Benny will step up here.

 

If fully fit I would go with:

What about Guthrie?

 

I know he has played well but if Tiotes fit I think we need him in this one to protect the defence. It would be a tactical switch, nothing to do with performances!!

 

The back line will be santon, Simpson, perch raylor in my opinion. You can't throw Kadar straight in, he has hardly been involved. Santon and perch have been ever presents in our match day squad. HBA could shine in this type of game, he starts for me.

Agree with Leazes, keep Benny in. He'll hopefully have a better game. He's just played against ManC, ManU and Chelsea and not done too shabby. He could have a good game against Norwich's defense. Don't know much about them though? Not done my homework yet..

Then if that's not working bring Best on, or Shola.

 

Good news. Only if he's totally raring to go for it though. Would make a massive difference. Perch and Colo at the back wouldn't be so bad.

Santon needs to start.

I'd play this, but Tiote in for Ober, HBA on the right. Possibly Santon at CB as well, Raylor at LB.

 

If Collo does play I would only risk him for half the match, no point aggravating the injury more by playing the whole match. Start him with Perch and hope to score before half time then bring on Santon/Kadar for him.
