Only good news is I won my bet by backing Arsenal. Not a difficult decision seeing we have the worst Team performances in the more than 50 years I have followed the Club, plus the trifecta of the worst of everything else ,the most utterly clueless manager plus the most atrocious Directors of Football in the PL.
If there was a Fourth place payout, it goes to the owners who are so devoid of Football culture, they appointed the above 3 mentioned and bought most of the players.
It all adds up to a close to 2 Billion pound destruction of the Team, and it can only get worse.
If Bozo and the Clowns really want European Football, then they need to sack Maresca today, sack the Football Directors at the same time and bring in ANYONE to save us for the last remaining games. To carry on as is, will see nothing changing or improving on or off the pitch. Dumping Maresca will see a squad with speed to burn actually use it, and not walk their way to oblivion.
The Clowns now have a couple of weeks to start to sort the mess out, pray they don't waste it.

One of the dullest games I have ever seen. But about what I expected.
Both managers are pupils of Pep, and neither have the players to pull it off.
That style has had its day.
Arsenal play the same as us, all possession, no penetration, lacklustre final third. They just have slightly better players and their manager is a little more experienced at this level.
They have Rice, Odegaard and Saliba, we just have Palmer who could be considered in that bracket, and he didnt even play cos of injury.
Oh and their goalkeeper isnt a droolin ****** like ours is.
I knew it was gonna be a 1-0 either way, a 0-0 or at best a 1-1, I knew neither team would score more than 1 goal. And as soon as I saw Palmer was out I knew we would struggle with that even.
    Should have kept Poch!

I see Chelsea are now saying they might sell up to 11 players including Sterling and Chilwell ,plus Chukweneaka will not be bought by the Germans due to too many injuries. Well good luck to Chelsea, who would want to buy any of them or Dewsburt Hall, Felix, or any of the others we wasted millions on, then ruined.
These Mugs posing as Directors of Football are not worth 2 bob and we are set to lose more millions because they pissed it away with braindead purchases.
Hopeless from top to bottom off the pitch, walking backwards to nowhere on the pitch.

I am cool with that, provided their replacements are better.
Trouble is, their track record at signing players is dogshit, so I have **** all faith in them.
    But we'll see I guess.

If we got rid of Maresca and got the Team firing, most of those for sale would increase in value !!

At the end of the day, Chelsea have 2 goals for this season as I see it.
    1) Win the Europa Conference League, we are the best team in the competition by a country mile and anything less than a win should and will be seen as a failure
    2) And more importantly, Qualify for the Champions League, whether that's in the top 4 or 5, whatever, this is essential for the boost in TV revenue and for the shirt sponsorship deal
If we achieve these two goals, we cannot view this season as anything other than a resounding success, HOWEVER, it would be nice to see some cohesiveness and form from our team and a little bit of frickin' consistency. With some more signings and coaching we can work the kinks out by next season, the issue is, do I think Maresca is the man to do this....well nothing he has shown me so far fills me with confidence I have to say.....time will tell....

Your assessment of what we need to be successful is dead on, plus we have ,hopefully an extra place in the CL to help us.
On the face of it, we are in a struggle to hold down even 5th spot with our schedule of remaining matches on the tough side. The form of the Team is easy to understand when broken down. Jackson and Lavia being injured has shown up the failure of our Football Directors. No striker and no player to run the midfield. We had a very good midfielder, in Kovacic, but they sold him, as they did all our experience. Then there's the Manager. He initially had a great run, but game by game Maresca imposed his "slow walk to nowhere" style and all the natural attack and speed that we have in the Team was shackled.
Get in a striker of quality, a midfielder with vision and control, and change to a faster more direct style ,and we could be a completely different kettle of poissons.
Will we do it?? Can't see it. The Duds will do everything to cover their arses and Maresca is simply the wrong man with the wrong style to succeed at any Club, not just Chelsea. The Owners?? They don't seem to care as long as they keep making money. Losing money trying to sell the poor choices the Duds have made might be the spark for change
