Looks like we could get a few palestinian refugees in on all the land...and plenty of rocks to remind them of home.
Judaism began with Abraham in 1700BCE, so it isn't far off! Abraham was probably pitching his tent in the land of Israel when your mate Getafix was eating a pasty
It's sobering to consider that European settlers in America felt it their duty to convert the indigenous peoples to religions that had existed for mere fractions of the ones (beliefs) being followed by their 'converts' ...
Yeah precision weapons my arse. Can’t even hit a target in Gaza 10 miles away without making the place look like it’s been nuked
The indigenous peoples who migrated over from Asia? We are all just nomads, wandering this fragile speck of beauty as we search for meaning and love.
10m people have now been displaced due to the war that continues to rage on in Sudan. Many of them women and children. 18.2m people need humanitarian support in Yemen. 80% of displaced people are women and children. These wars are clearly a lot worse and more destructive than what’s happened between Hamas and Israel. I think nobody is bothered or emotionally involved in these because there’s no Jewish involvement.
Not trendy enough sadly. Maybe next year. Yemen are a bit busy doing military parades for social media and chucking fireworks at Tel Aviv.
You been at the same burial chamber (bunch of rocks) as me to find that poetic insight into the transient human condition ?
Nah. It came to me as I watched sunburnt obese tourists munching on chips and pasties in Penzance last summer. An epiphanous moment.
UNHRC resolutions against Yemen: 3 Commissions of Inquiry on Yemen:1 UNHRC resolutions against Sudan: 4 Commissions of Inquiry on Sudan: 1 UNHRC resolutions against Israel: 108 Commissions of Inquiry on Israel: 9 And some wonder why I take the Human Rights Council's opinion about as seriously as a room temperature treacle.
Nothing more poignant about the nature of existence and our place in the cosmos than witnessing fat tourists getting mugged by seagulls
Not wanting to diminish the suffering of people in Sudan and Yemen, but those wars are long standing civil wars. Countries at war with themselves. There is little in the way of UN resolutions that can affect Govt direction when there is no stable govt to speak of The situation in Israel/Palestine is very different. Where you have (essentially) a western state illegally occupying another territory, subjugating the population, and in contravention of all kinds of international law
Can anybody confirm if this is true or not ? These are leaflets that apparently were dropped in Gaza If it is true. it’s in direct contravention of international law around forced displacement. And morally it is absolutely bankrupt To the honourable people of Gaza, after the events that have taken place, the temporary ceasefire, and before the implementation of Trump's mandatory plan—which will impose forced displacement upon you whether you accept it or not - we have decided to make one final appeal to those who wish to receive aid in exchange for cooperating with us," the leaflet read. "The world map will not change if all the people of Gaza cease to exist. No one will feel for you, and no one will ask about you. You have been left alone to face your inevitable fate. Iran cannot even protect itself, let alone protect you, and you have seen with your own eyes what has happened. "Neither America nor Europe cares about Gaza in any way. Even your Arab countries, which are now our allies, provide us with money and weapons while sending you only shrouds. "There is little time left—the game is almost over. Whoever wishes to save themselves before it is too late, we are here, remaining until the end of time."
This has already been debunked as fake news and ABC, which led on the story in the Western media, has withdrawn its article and issued an apology. The clue is in the logo which is that of the Shin Bet, which has no general jurisdiction in the area and no real involvement in the decision-making process. All official documents, announcements, evacuation orders etc. dropped over Gaza would carry the IDF logo and never feature pictures of individuals.
