I guess it depends on your definition of it. When I see people I haven’t seen for awhile a few of them asked if I “still follow Saints” then laugh/look perplexed when I say yes, with “what’s the point?” being the next question.

They are completely right of course in that if you want to see your team winning stuff or competing at the top end/competitions it is pointless, but just different attitudes to sport I suppose.

I can see that if you have never actually attended a football match, with all the atmospheric tensions generated by a crowd, and if you only ever watch football on TV, following a non-big 6 club might seem pointless. I know before my dad took me to my first Saints game, I was more interested in the likes of Liverpool or Man United, or whoever was in the FA Cup Final that year, as there wasn’t any other club football on TV.

Going down the Dell changed everything for me. This was my tribe and I couldn’t leave if I tried.

Yeah as I say it’s up to the individual, and reasons for following a team. I think a lot of them get their fix for live football by watching the local teams fairly regularly, but will all have their main team as a team that at least competes in Europe regularly, they’ll go to live games from time to time but mainly on TV. Each to their own I suppose.

It's quite fitting that Dan Burn scored yesterday. Having worked his way up from non-league football, this is a good reminder that this coming Saturday is National Non-League Day:

So, with no PL fixture on Saturday, take an opportunity to watch some football that will be more entertaining than watching the current Saints squad.

I think I'll either be heading to Haig Avenue to watch Southport or Rivacre Park to watch Vauxhall Motors. Looking forward to seeing some 'robust' challenges :emoticon-0130-devil

Please expalin why NUFC are cheats. They are abiding by the strict spending rules as far as I can see.

Yep, played the Covid card because of their injuries, postponing our match……very deliberate.

Thank you for that. Now I understand your gripe with NUFC. But is it worth harbouring this dislike or will this fade with time?

Isn’t that the fault of PL management, that let them get away with it? As usual, if it’s within the rules, everyone could have done it. Didnt like it at the time but we have created a lot more problems for ourselves without needing outside help.

Pretty happy with Tuchel's first line up. Good to see Lewis-Skelly and Curtis Jones in there. Hopefully he can get the best out of Rashford too.

Yep. Fresh start for everyone. It's not the players, it's the tactics.

And guess what? It's round pegs in round holes! 4-2-3-1 with a RB at RB and LB at LB!

Forgot about Broja. Injuries have really halted his early promise. Don't pay enough attention to Everton to know if he ever gets game time/is just always injured or just not fancied.
