Putin and his Belarus buddy, forget his name are holding a press conference. Putin: 'We agree with the proposals for the ceasefire.'
Putin has said, he is not happy to lose his military advantage in one area, that they've recaptured there (Kursk?), and has said they either die or allow themselves to be captured....or something like that.
Given that captured Ukrainian troops appear to have an unfortunate inclination to getting shot... not sure many will surrender ...
From what I gather in the Kursk region now, there is only going to be one outcome, so the Ukranians need to get out of there if they can, but I'm sure I heard somewhere they are surrounded. What I'm saying is it's not looking a good outcome for them, Putin will not concede that territory now he has retaken it and not even for any peace deal. So not sure what the Ukranains do, sadly this aint the movies.
... wasn't being serious ... but if I was them I wouldn't surrender unless Putrid gives some assurances in advance and the UN or even the US are allowed to observe ...
Like Prigozhin did. Would have got there, too, if he hadn't cut a deal and turned back at the last minute.
Not sure your point here, because the difference is we are not the ones getting put on the frontline to face the high probability of death or life changing injury.
There wasn’t a point tbh. Everything is ultimately pointless but here especially. I should probably have some caffeine before my 11am call if I’m this morose now.
31m ago14:15 Analysis: 'They have to get out now' - Trump's alarmist plea to Putin not quite right, but time is running out Donald Trump has presented his stance on the war as being the humanitarian figure who wants to stop the killing, our security and defence analyst Michael Clarke says. But Trump's comments in our previous post referring to "thousands" of Ukrainian troops being cut off in Kursk are not quite right given the current situation, Clarke explains. As we've been reporting, Ukrainians are losing their foothold on the region after Russia's advances, but Clarke said troops should still be able to get away. "Certainly the Ukrainians are withdrawing from Kursk, they had about a 35km pocket to get out of, that pocket has narrowed today," he said. "Some Ukrainians might have been captured - most of them, I think, can probably get away." He added "the Ukrainians can escape" - albeit without all of their equipment or in properly formed units. https://news.sky.com/story/ukraine-...ia-moscow-saudi-live-sky-news-latest-12541713 'I don't think they're in that situation' of being 'caught in trap' While Ukrainian troops are acknowledging that the centre of the Kursk incursion has gone, they want to make sure forces are not "caught in a trap" where they either have to fight to death or surrender - something Vladimir Putin warned of yesterday, Clarke also said. "I don't think they're in that situation at the moment, but undoubtedly, as we've been saying for the last 24 hours, if they're going to get out they have to get out now," he added. "I think they will have done that yesterday, today and tomorrow."
Hamas' inability or probably unwillingness to read the room of the current Israeli government is astounding.
At least 330 killed by Israeli air strikes on Gaza The Hamas-run Gaza health ministry says the death toll from the Israeli strike overnight has risen to "at least 330". The AFP news agency quotes the head of the ministry, Mohammed Zaqut, who says most of the dead are women and children. He adds hundreds more are wounded, "dozens of them in critical condition". Israeli govt are barbaric ****s. Somebody ****ing drop a bomb on them instead.
Our greatest fear has come true, says Israeli hostage families We're now hearing from the families of Israeli hostages being held in Gaza. "The greatest fear of the families, the kidnapped, and the citizens of Israel has come true," says a statement from the Hostages and Missing Families Forum. "The Israeli government chose to give up the hostages." The statement expresses shock and anger at what it calls the "deliberate dismantling of the process to return our loved ones". https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/czje23jd779t
This has been coming. The way Hamas have behaved has been vile. I’m surprised it’s took Israel this long they should have made a point much sooner. This is more than deserved.
Thoroughly depressing... and anybody deluded enough to believe the justification of Hamas reforming, rearming and about to launch more terror attacks, is a complete mug ... rearming from where? - Israel has choked off water, electricity and critical aid ... are there check points just waving anybody with a shipment of AK-47s and RPGs through then? The cynic in me suspects Benny and the warmongers have been seething at footage of defiant armed Hamas and Islamic Jihadis at the staged hostage releases ... and have been itching to resume the bombing as soon as they could get the Yanks to agree ... The original ceasefire agreement included IDF withdrawals from Gaza which have 'stalled' ... but the resumption of the indiscriminate bombing is all down to Hamas failing to comply with the original agreement?
They are a bunch of ****s mate. There was a 3 part ceasefire in place and Israel broke the terms of it by failing to implement phase two, then tried to shift the blame to Hamas. Gaslighting ****ers and now they've resumed their slaughter of innocent women and children
This. Israel failed to implement phase 2, despite agreeing to it when the ceasefire was brokered. And then tried to blame Hamas, who have complied with every part of the ceasefire People falling for this **** are mugs. Netanyahu doesn't want peace, he never has.
