They’re ****ed without Salah. The others are decent but not top level as their numbers show. Liverpool usually find a quality forward from somewhere though.
Always thought under Klopp and Slot (to some extent) that pool have a soft underbelly. I think today showed that.
Think they could be in some trouble next season and they're probably the worst placed of the 3 of us from a financial perspective.
It's not a narrative, it's a hunch and it's completely my own. I might be wrong. But then, I might not be. I don't see an improving squad. I see one about to hit a downward slope after a perfect storm league season.
it’s a narrative to me because youre not the only person I’ve seen pushing it . And if we win the title this season but not next then yes that would be a downward spiral, a cheap one but still a technically correct one Just hopeful this downward spiral isn’t as bad as yours since fergie left
All good mate you deserved the win and we will always make it to more finals so not to bothered reality Our performance is the most disappointing thing personally ,we just didn’t show a good version of ourselves all game we didn’t make it difficult for you at all imo
I thought you'd struggle after Klopp went and have been surprised by how well Slot has done. The summer ahead is going to be huge regarding the ins and outs but unlike many clubs you presumably have money in the bank and a manager who seems to have a handle on the situation - I think you'll be fine. On a separate note I read today that the last time we met you in a final (in 1974) we had more major trophies than you. It's fair to say that the two clubs have diverged pretty drastically in the past 50 years!
There's an element of Man Utd in their last season under Ferguson where they won the league at a canter but it was clear that some of the players were past their peak (though Salah has been insane this season granted!). The fact that Slot has had this season with the players is a huge bonus for him though and if they do struggle to replace some of those players I think it'll be just for the one season. Just my opinion but they've got a core of players who are in and around their peak who will be coming off a title winning season.
Atlético beating Barca makes that a mental title race. Bring it on. That’s an interesting league at least.
Yeah yeah, what about Manchester United blah blah! Liverpool will have won two league titles in 35 years. Put like that, the spiral has never really been much upwards.
^^^^^^^ but nearly forgot, you won the we got a hundred points but didn't win the league trophy or something, so there's always that.
I’m not convinced by Top (or whatever he’s called). I think the old fella would have been alright, but from what I read Top first love is horses.
To clarify I think next season is going to be a really hard title race to call. I do think Liverpool will be weaker just not by much, Man City will be back and surely Arsenal will buy a striker. If I had to bet it would be on Man City for next year as I assume they'll get someone to cover for KdB.
