Bit of a **** day when the Spurs board start chipping in. Had to reply. I'm off to watch a film now though.
The interviewer was trying to take him down the path of "did you lose cos you were knackered and upset cos of the PSG game?" And Slot wasn't having that saying that would do injustice to Newcastle.
Thought Slot came across excellently after the PSG result too (think I mentioned it on here). It's easy to come across well when things are going to plan but to carry on when it's awkward is the mark of a person and so far he's appeared to be very gracious. Klopp was the same for his first few years, I think eventually though the bastards grind you down (the press that is). Honestly I think they were knackered to be honest. Not just because of the midweek game (we played the night before them though didn't have extra time and weren't pushed so hard) but they've had a tough season and will have played many more games than us. Still though - we won!!!!!!
In reality they probably were somewhat knackered, but the key thing is we got the tactics spot on when it mattered, exactly the same as the Arsenal games.
Team who are still somehow 4th have won four league games in four months. Such a low quality league season.
I honestly didn't care who won won today, but on the back of the PSG defeat, I did think, Toon this is going to be the best opportunity you will get - sorry but I still had the mental scars from the 1974 FA Cup Final and knowing never to trust Newcastle ever again.
To be fair to them basking in others misfortune is kinda the only joy they can hope for in football. bit like Everton fans in that way
