Even before Trump etc I thought Tesla's looked a bit lardy, I think they look double lardy now.

The shares have been over valued for a while, but then again so have a lot of the tech markets. The correction that's happened was definitely coming imo

Of course tesla are going to lose sales and share price, they got away first in the electric car race and had virtually no competition. Now the Chinese are here you have a choice, bit like choosing between cat **** or dog **** but the choice is yours.

Should add that I heard on the wireless the other day an advert for a 100% electric Dacia for only £15,000 no idea what it's like but if it fits your driving pattern that could be a good buy.

Guess it depends how much you drive it! The new Y model long range AWD is 565,000kr here, with all the extras - £40k..
That's dirt cheap for a car with the equipment and functionality the Tesla has - it was more expensive and worse quality a decade ago for the equivalent car. 5 year manufacturers warranty, 10 year battery etc.

As Howden mentioned, it felt like tech was massively overvalued..

I think all Tesla’s look **** and the new one is no better and now Musk’s made the brand toxic, I have no idea why anyone would buy one.

I only know one Tesla owner and he’s an absolute ****, so it suits him perfectly. <laugh>

For me, it's good that there's constant competition on tech makers.. a US counterbalance to the Chinese/South Korean makers. It's never good that there's 'one' system in the hands of one authoritarian country. Constant competition keeps the rate of advancement and development up.

Musk has made a prick of himself getting involved in social media wars and politics... But he's just one person. The car company is now bigger than him and I doubt he's got that much hands on involvement in the engineering aspect of it. He's not killed anyone and adjusts his politics to suit himself. I don't see the issue of getting so worked up about him... There's far worse out there.

If everything he owns collapses, a lot of ppl will lose their jobs and livelihoods.

He's said idiotic things, done stupid things and behaved like a teenage boy, but he's not murdered or incited death. His businesses also haven't put anyone else out of work, as they've largely been created in their own space. There's far worse out there deserving of global hatred, but he's become the personality of the moment.

He owns a car company, if he pisses people off, they won’t buy his cars. It’s really that simple.

He’s just the next Gerald Ratner.

I don't disagree and everyone has the right to choose what to buy or not buy, but the level of hatred is off the scale and just social media manufactured and exaggerated. Ppl allow themselves to get far too sucked in to having strong emotions over something that really doesn't affect them. No one would accept someone chucking paint over someone wearing a Hugo boss suit or a Porsche/Volkswagen.

Nobody involved in Boss, VW, or Porsche 85 years ago is still involved now, whereas Musk is the current owner of Tesla.

As you say, people have a choice where to spend their hard-earned and now they’re choosing not to spend it with Tesla.

Long may it continue, I hope the objectionable twat loses everything.

Really don't get people wishing all his businesses to fail etc as ultimately he'd be fine but the workers, jobs in the supply chain supplying his businesses and other jobs around it all will all suffer and the vast majority of those people wouldn't be able to financially be fine like musk would..... He's a tit we all know that. But I also think his businesses are doing some fantastic things. Like the space x rocket that's launched over the last day or so that's heading to rescue the astronauts that have been stuck for months.
