I’m not digging you personally.. I also think we are one of the best teams in the league and have a great squad. I predicted us to finish 4th in the other thread at the start of the season, I wouldn’t do that if I didn’t think we weren’t decent. Clubs in a good position. RLB, as stubborn as he is, is a good manager. But if I think we are a very good team then I expect us to beat teams I consider as poor. We aren’t Plymouth where we need to enjoy every minute of our time in the division and celebrate every point we pick up. It bugs the living **** out of me on the match threads when folk are saying such and such will be a tough game because they picked up a point last week - when in reality they’ve lost about 70% of their away games. If you think we are THAT good then you should have some belief in us instead of setting out the excuses before a ball is kicked.
Not me mate, I can't wait to get on the train for the Millwall game. I'm not a weak willed pussy panicking about facing Honeyman and Watmore. I've booked my Wembley hotel and can't wait to get down there. FFS, we were stuck in L1 and could be in the PL in May ... we're not the best but come on, who cares if we make it.
I'll say about us not beating teams we'd expect to home, not having a fully fit Mundle or Watson has been a problem.
So who did say ' this club is the best in the league'. You can't just keep pulling people up without naming them ... ... otherwise people will just think you're making it up.
It’s not even that mate. Of course we’ve got some injury problems it’s just the excuse making before a ball has been kicked that annoys me. Give the lads the credit they deserve we are a good team, we shouldn’t be worrying about Cardiff picking up a point the game before we play them because we’re the better team. If we turn up we win. I’d like to see some changes made though. Maybe a bit of an old school mentality but I think if players are continually picked after putting in several bad performances it gives an almost “undroppable” feel which can only be bad for the lads on the bench wondering what they’ve got to do to get a chance. We’re in a position where we have decent options on the bench which we didn’t have before so frigging give them some game time.
If you didn’t post so much ****e I’d probably take the time to trawl through and find it. You absolutely did though mate whether you want to act the goat or not. Are you changing your mind now and saying we aren’t the best club in the division?
Hmmmm - that was a difficult watch but after our wonderful start we seem to have required a mercurial spell or two in a game and the need to score spectacular goals to win point(s) against organised commited, industrious sides - with a penchant for ceding points to bottom of the league sides so losing to Coventry so comprehensively runs against the grain of the season but we looked half paced or perhaps Coventry were on a new stimulant... I am delighted that the play offs is pretty much assured and as we know that is ever a lottery - hopefully Regis feels emboldened to involve a greater proportion of the squad and inspire the heavy lifters to push to their limits and challenge the opposition as we seem to have been found out by too many clubs - especially visiting the SOL. For many years our defence has given me palpitations 'cos I'm a worrier by nature but we seem to have adopted a chaos theory defence strategy since dropping into the pit of League 1 and from my emotional perspective it is definitely not doing the jolly old ticker any good as the ball richochets (endlessly) around our penalty area Coventry out muscled us and apparently won every second, third ball and then we promptly found a way of giving it back to them - a recipe for a tough afternoon - and when they had the ball they were usually very tidy and busy with it but this young side offered as much cohesive resistance today as Wales against England - I'm just relieved that I also played a bit of rugby as well as footie - and delightfully the salmon season on the Welsh Dee has welcomed its first fish in the Chester tagging trap - so I could genuinely open a bottle of Lebanon's finest after our first try... for a simple avalanche of good reasons Once you've had one, naturally oblivion beckons.. so this protracted post from yours truly is a futile attempt to keep it down to two bottles by deferring the second by a miserable half an hour or so (extra minutes for punctuation and copy reading) - however, the expected phone call from Scotland will undermine that ambition - Sunday looks a write off from here. In other news, the grandsons are thriving and their teddy bears proudly wearing handknitted red and white scarves while propped up in front of the footie - hopefully they got away a tad lighter than us today. Many thanks for all the kind words and responses to their arrival last autumn, it was much appreciated and always wonderful to share joy in this troubled world. DR
Mate, there are posts on here about players being ****e, arse, useless, fat, unprofessional etc. Every mistake is analysed to the nth degree with no acceptance if where we are as a club and how we won't have perfect players. Then it's repeated over and over like people can't see the mistakes the players make and justifies the constant moaning
Well you're taking plenty of time to call me out and I'm calling you a liar. So take a bit more time to prove me wrong ... ... I'm happy to wait until you prove you're not full of shyte,
They're so desperate to attack the club they can't even attempt to camouflage it ... ... straight in and so predictable they may as well just admit it, but they won't.
Sat in a taxi in standstill traffic on my way into NYC, you’ve only got another 5 minutes of me before I disappear again.. because that’s what us negative Nellies do No idea why you’re denying it though, you defo said we are the best club. Sure it was during a debate around finances, might’ve been after someone mentioned WBA’s. For what it’s worth, I’m not saying we aren’t we the best club in the league. Football wise, that’s Leeds. But everything else is positive for us. That’s why I have a level of expectancy now from these lads they’ve shown they’re good enough.
Embarrassing marra ,would love to ignore them but like you over 50 years of following them home and away it’s hard so fcuk them
end of the day, not good enough from top to bottom owe the fans and themselves a win, but at the minimum a good performance next time out keep the faith
