Turns out Heritage handicaps at Newmarket in September are the key to the Triumph. Willie completely ****ing up the stats guys
Why do they keep saying there are only 3 previous horses that have won the Gold Cup 3 times? What about Golden Miller?
Well in theory they are correct because he won 5 (which is not 3) - but I know what you mean ..............
Amazing to hear that JPMcmanus nearly bought Walk in the Park. But for failing the vet there would have been no Inothewayurthinin as JP admitted he would have gelded Walk in the Park
I give up. What an expensive Cheltenham that would have been. My days of profit making are long gone and I don't see them returning, ever Show jumping went out the window after Amanda's car accident I guess it could be back to dog shows now we have one that looks a bit special
He’d never admit but I suspect a burly Dan enjoyed that GC result. Willie has been quietly making his way up the trainers leaderboard this week and if GDC had prevailed he’d have added £750k in prize money just today.
Wodhooh won. Ethical Diamond 4th, SP 16/1. If anyone bet on Music Drive today (4th, I did) all the bookmakers gave four places, 33/1 SP.
Interview with Gordon Elliot immediately after Woodhoh won the last (easily) . Man was in tears and as Nick Luck said, thats the pressure of delivering. Especially with Mullins firing in 10. I finished the week pretty much unscathed Absurde e/way today at 7, and a nice e/way double with Derryhassen Paddy. What a chaser that horse is going to be. Hope you'll all managed to find at least one that paid for the week. 2 and a bit weeks rest and the start of the flat! and then aintree, @!@!@!@!@!
Strange that TV pundits were going on about the shock winner, Poniros, in yesterday’s Triumph Hurdle - instead of raving about the quality of Poniros. Mick Fitzgerald commented after the race “What a fantastic prospect Lulamba is.” So what does that make the winner? There’s no doubt that Lulamba and East India Dock are two smart juveniles, but for a debutant to turn them over after jumping his hurdles in nothing better than ‘ novicey fashion’ speaks volumes for his potential. I can’t remember a performance like that in watching the Triumph Hurdle for over sixty years. Let’s hope he breaks the pattern of mostly failure of Triumph winners - to go on and become an exceptional hurdler and Champion Hurdle winner. It’s an exciting prospect!
