I think some of his general concerns around trade and making your own products is valid, but he's going about such an arse of a way to solve it, that's he's going to end up doing more damage than good. You have to ask in a population of over 300M people, why aren't they making their own cars, why are they importing timber. The same questions I would ask of many things consumers buy.

Take the UK for example, we have a minimum wage that I believe Labour increased again recently, they also put up NI contributions for employers, and it's all well and good, but it makes your products more expensive, because those wage costs filter down into the products when they are sold. So then work gets offshored to poor countries, I'm thinking Bangladesh here. Whatever you try and do for the good of people is always exploited, by the general thought process of how can we make it cheaper.

We've seen it in the UK with farmhands, lorry drivers, we've exploited them all in the past, to keep prices low, now we are having to pay a fair wage, the prices go up. I think most European countries with the exception of the UK, have a trade deficit with the US, so I can understand why he's pissed off, much like the US spending on military and we've suddenly had a wake up call. He's not wrong, and actually his wake up call is doing us all a favour, but ****ing hell the guy is off his nut, worse than brb on a bad day. :bandit:

Reform UK will win the Runcorn by-election according to polls.

Labour lose their first by-election whilst in power.

Her big mistake was going to the San Diego border, especially how Trump is with the Mexicans at the moment, and also her being an illegal alien because of the revoked visa. I know an officer may have told her to do that, but **** that, she should have just gone back to Canada and sorted it out, and how long had she been in the US on a revoked visa, they will look at that with a very dim view.

Heard it's very common for them to go that way from California.

In any case how come they just didn't send her back to Mexico rather than just incarcerating her.

You are right though i hadn't realised her visa was ****ed during her stay. She should have just left immediately.

Troubling times indeed. I wanted to do route 66 at some point but might put that on hold with all my not606 posting lol

Indeed - always the one I get on that particular offer...

Aldi and Lidl do some proper imported packs of more obscure stuff - some of which can be particularly nice ...
