Aye **** article and a **** article by Powell too This is a good one https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...ish-footballs-failure-to-produce-top-managers
I should emphasise that I have no issue with Tuchel, as I happen to like him a lot as a manager and also as a person (insofar as I can judge his personality from a few interviews on Match of the Day and BT Sport). I've also always said that Germany is, in no way, a country which I feel any sense of animosity towards, nor any sense of rivalry. The Scots and French are the ancient enemies of the English nation, after all. Even my grandparents were babes-in-arms during WWII, so the whole 'them Nazis done the Blitzkrieg on us' spiel isn't my thing, hence my affection for our very own Tim Walter. I just think it's sad that we have had to resort to employing a foreign coach for our national team.
They should get some lessons from watching good ol' Freddie. You couldn't make this sketch nowadays! Ray Charles!
Thomas Tuchel's first ever squad as England head coach, in full, is as follows... Goalkeepers: Jordan Pickford Dean Henderson Aaron Ramsdale James Trafford Defenders: Marc Guehi Reece James Levi Colwill Ezri Konsa Tino Livramento Jarell Quansah Dan Burn Kyle Walker Myles Lewis-Skelly Midfielders: Jude Bellingham Eberechi Eze Jordan Henderson Curtis Jones Cole Palmer Declan Rice Morgan Rogers Forwards: Anthony Gordon Jarrod Bowen Phil Foden Marcus Rashford Dominic Solanke Harry Kane So it's not about form then? Jordan Henderson Dan Burn
Walker? Thought he was supposed to be washed now he's lost a yard of pace? Gotta be honest, I don't know **** about most of that defence
Maguire gone, just one ex Tiger now, Ollie Watkins though? Don't like Henderson. Didn't Conner Gallagher score against Real Madrid?
I am surprised by CG and OW too. Disappointed that Delap isn't in - Latvia would have been a good game to try him out. As for the rest, I am not sure about form or injuries to make a judgement. Edit - 4 goalkeepers for a two match squad seems overkill - or is that compulsory these days?
I thought Henderson had retired, most of the rest I've never heard of. Don't follow the Premier league.
Watkins picked up a knock in the CL on Wed. Not a fan of the Henderson inclusion given his age, but not a clue how he's been doing at Ajax, so maybe he is in form. Or he could be included to get some experience in (like Amrabat). Never been impressed by Gallagher in an England shirt though
I was listening to that idiot Nicky Butt on TS on Tuesday, maybe Wednesday, talking about Manures stadium plans and how they deserve to be the biggest club in the world. Not one player in this squad. Ar they talking about getting government assistance building it too. Dont you and I already own a bit of West Ham and Man Citys grounds. One thing he was right about, if they didnt have Fernandes they would be in the relegation places.
Their general lack of awareness suggests to me that they're more likely to head down than up. If they do build that big-top looking structure then at least it would be fitting of their predicament.
u21 squad.... Jobe Bellingham in there .....deserved or off his brother's reputation? Don't know myself, only seen him twice this years wasn't blown away either time.....
