More seats means more people in the stadium and that’s what we need.

I would love to renew my season ticket.

The extra ticket money really isn't the main driver. It accounts for a small portion of additional revenue.

It's also important to consider the footprint that's available and what's achievable.

Regardless I'm all about quality over quantity. The design will be key and hopefully the fans will be right on top of the players and very loud.

It appears to me that if the new owners walked on water, some of our fans would tut and say it's because they can't ****ing swim.

I agree. I think anything PIF invest in will be classy and make a real statement, regardless of the seat capacity.

I wouldn't want the 'cathedral' vibe some of the other big clubs have, with massive stadiums but no atmosphere.

And if Sir Jim Ratface wants to play a game of who has the biggest dick, then let him. Man U are leaking money all over and getting further into debt. So if they want a gigantic circus, go ahead.

If they built it to 70k they would moan and say it needs to be 80. They just pull a number out their arse though and the club have the data.

No I just think we need to also think about the fans who turn out week in and week out.

Everyone knows in all about the corporate income and growth. But the balance has to be with the fans in the stadium who are most important.

Would that be included in the price of the season ticket or not? And by who?

I guess it depends on who is giving the blowjob.

Well, it matters to some at least, if not all.

If I was putting up the cash for a new football stadium the 1st thing I'd be saying to the architects is how do we make that atmosphere absolutely banging and really tough for the oppo to have to come into. That has to be the number one consideration

If man uniteds is 2bn at 100k and nufcs is 1. 5 at 65 k then it's going to be one of the best stadiums in the world.

    Newcastle will finally have something.

    The footprint indicated steep terraces.

    From tinternet.

"Newcastle chiefs initially explored a larger capacity, closer to 70,000, but opted for a more conservative figure to ensure consistent demand for tickets. Chief executive Darren Eales, who previously ran MLS club Atlanta United, has been cautious about overexpansion, having seen how managing capacity can maintain ticket demand by limiting the seats below the theoretical maximum."

Makes sense to me. Keep up the demand and desire for tickets, rather than everyone gets one and then some don't show up. Keep the passion.

Like building a circus tent (manu new stadium).

I suppose it’s fit for purpose because it’s going to be full of clowns.

That's the great thing about a new site - you can expand bit by bit. Look at Wimbledon's new stadium - yes on a much smaller scale than what we'd be looking at but they have a 9.5k stadium at present but the footprint available to expand to 20k if they require in the future (over 100% capacity expansion).

We could easily build a 65-70k stadium and then decide to expand it further later if required to 80-90k if they build with potential expansions in mind.

Personally I'd rather not move for 65k - just tosh up SJP to it's max and stay at the cathedral on the hill with say 60k. 12k extra in seats is nowt and it'd probably be about 50% corporate seating anyway so really we'd be moving home for 6k on fans being able to get there, which if you could expand SJP by 5k would be an almost pointless move, at a massive cost.

I get what you mean, but I think it's more about the overall development, including facilities, entertainment, etc., rather than just how many extra seats we get.

When we're looking at significant increases to match day revenue and opportunities for hosting concerts / events, it's the whole site upgrade that will make a real difference. Just adding seats to SJP won't achieve that.

Plus the whole thing will be named, and have advertising opportunities all over it. I think 65k sounds about right. Would be the second largest in the league after all.
