The key point is that NHS England was completely independent of government which means that, in removing it, that puts control firmly into the Department of Health and Social Care...and who heads that department again?
I wasn't offering an opinion about the move, merely clarifying what was happening. Calling it NHS England was a strange and confusing decision.
It's one of those ideas which somehow makes sense yet is obviously stupid On the one hand it implies it's a separate body...on the other it's the worst choice of name as NHS Scotland and NHS Wales exist and they are not oversight bodies
