I was with the Watford fans, the best away game was Gillingham but there was carnage after the game from the Kentish thugs
I was right on the edge of the Watford fans - the thin yellow line you could say. Was at that Gillingham match too - rolling around on the terracing fighting a guy who decided to attack me for no apparent reason.
I was with a bunch Watford supporters going back to our cars when we were ambushed by their fans who were throwing glass bottles at us, one hit a young lad and it burst on his head, blood everywhere, when they saw what had happened they scarpered and he was rushed to hospital to have his head stitched back together
I sat by the goal line for the Swindon game. The Police moved me there with a bunch of other kids because they were worried about us being crushed against the fence round the pitch. The view of the goal was awful and it took a while to realise that Eddy had missed the penalty.
Watford were drawing 1-1 at half-time, although they were overwhelmed in the second-half. The pitch at White Hart Lane (where the semi-final was played) was truly dreadful, to which Markthehorn alludes. A brave performance by Watford, but Chelsea had some quality players.
They also injured one of our best players - Duncan Welbourne. Not badly enough for him to go off, but enough to 'keep him quiet' for the rest of the game.
My late father and uncle went along with their pals whom I still see today. Apparently there was an almighty brawl in the pub they were in - straight out of a western. All of the windows and mirrors were smashed, glass was several inches thick on the floor and a police horse was ridden into the pub.
I remember the muddy pitch, the low roofed stand, and that great goal from Garbett...the rest is a blur
Another famous hit from rage at Arsenal from an African player. https://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/25004555.day-watford-beat-arsenal-reach-fa-cup-semi-final/
