Just reality. On that showing salah was trying his best bit just being largely bossed any time he was up against his man when set and I mean bossed. He gave some moments but he just didn't have the pace. We have to see his time is very close to up at this extremely high level and keeping him.needs to be a 1 year thing. If he's not having that then that will be that.
Looking forward to this. Always enjoyed this cup might not be considered a big trophy but it's still silverware in the cabinet if we win..
It's a big trophy if we win it. Any trophy won by Britain's best team is. The league cup would be able to brag it was won by Liverpool.
There's one idiot on the Spurs board who calls it the "season killer cup". I think they must win it a lot
This cup hasnt been "mickey mouse" in 15 to 20 years. Since the oil states have been ego tripping it to win it has become more interesting thst the fa cup as it ends before the cl proper. As big sides win it then nobody cares about the type of European qualification winners get.
North London goal post is yet to move Arsenal still top in North London. When is Spurs supporters going to learn?.
Yep, the truth is its difficult to win, no one outside of us city utd or Chelsea have won it in the last 10 years. Spurs, Newcastle and the like would give their left bollock for it. Hopefully we close the door again on Sunday
we all saw how we played them at anfield. We know they will be all.piss and vinegar at Wembley but have the big men to control that. They are the ones with a few issues so we don't need to talk up our own.
It's the one trophy that can be won before what would be a busy April schedule if you were still in every competition, so it makes sense to try and nail it in case things go tits up afterwards - you never know what can happen with form/injuries etc.
Everybody I worked with as an apprentice many many years ago called it the MM Cup. I still do occasionally but it's just a term that has stuck. I've always considered it a valid trophy, just the lesser of the five pots I think of as real (as opposed to exhibition trophies). It was always considered the poor relation of the FA Cup, but I feel like the gap between them has closed a bit over the years. I don't think the LC has gained stature so much as the FAC has lost a lot of its glamour and prestige as European competitions have become more and more prominent.
I agree the fa cup has completely lost any sort of prestige. It is battered by the itself and nothing will now revive it. Why? No free weekend for the final. No massive build ups or interest as it's entirely predictable No huge prizes. (Bigger than league cup but still not enough to encourage mid tbale) No rules to give the little guy a massive pay day if away draw. We will have the fa cup final this year on the 17th May. Lfc play Brighton on the 18th so we won't even be focused on the fa cup and neither will be 16 other clubs. We then have another fixture to end the season. This means the fa cup is no longer any climax of the season. It is ineffect a mid season cup that clashes with more important things.
Newcastle and some other clubs will be happy to win the the league cup because it's a route to get into Europe. Those calling Mickey Mouse cup are short sighted and probably calling it Mickey Mouse out of jealousy. Whatever you call it's a trophy.
Nobody who has won this cup in thr past 10 years have qualified for Europe by thst route. We have all passed it down to thr league. The teams thet have won it are teams that have the ego to believe in winning everything or trying to. It has been an oil state cup but now it's us that want to win it for 3rd time in 4 years. Slot seems to get winning things, he seems driven enough. The question for the future is if the people above him realise about winning things.
Konate pictured outside training with the rest. Gakpo also shown outside. Alisson quansah Konate vvd Robertson Gravenberch macallister Salah Szoboszlai gakpo Diaz Or something to that effect, depending on gakpo readiness Jota shouldnt start. Jones certainly shouldn't Nunez meh. I've no real.faith in him.doing much so it really depends who he would be up against and could you trust him.not to be wound up and sent off (I'd go after him.if I were newcastle) Endo will play some part for sure. Really it's down to the starting 11 to get the job done and ignore the tiredness
