I have to say, I quite like the Yanks. I know people paint them as these brash, loud, stupid, inward looking, uneducated bunch. And of course there are plenty of them. But you have to remember that the US is a massive country and there are all sorts of people who live there. I know it's misleading to make generalisations, but I think one of the reasons people find yanks irritating is because of their confidence. Us Brits, largely are a fairly reserved bunch and we don't take well to outward shows of confident behaviour as we see it as being a bit arrogant. We expect people to be humble and demure, and for the most part, if the yanks have something to say, something to show or an idea that they think is good, they will let you know about it. I have to say, I quite like their can do attitude and their approach to taking on challenges. We are a bit like 'Ooh I'm not sure that you could ever reasonably do that' The Yanks are like 'Yes, let's do this !'
Trouble is with these votes, it's not because it's Trump, it's because the people feel they are not being listened to, so make stupid choices. The same in the UK, the same in (East) Germany - they do it because they want a voice. We saw all this with Brexit. No way is Reform getting in though, we aint quite as stupid as the ****ing Yanks.
I don’t like them because of their arrogance. Nothing to do with confidence. Pretty much every yank I’ve encountered when I’ve been on holiday looks down their nose at every other nationality. My and my ex were having a drink one night and we got taking to the yanks on the table next to us. They were shocked when we told them what we eat back home. They honestly thought all we ate is bland tasteless food like we are back in the war. ****ers.
Exactly this, they are so ****ing arrogant, and their loudness makes it worse. It's trying to resist that urge to tell them to stfu.
I genuinely thought since the Tories are so utterly ****e and the Labour Party have decided to completely misread/ignore the desires of the electorate (seriously Keir Starmer would give Margaret Thatcher a run for her money in the terms of bloody mindedly pushing policies in spite of popular opinion), that Reform had a way of sneaking into atleast the top 2 of British politics... but the rise of Trump and the fact Reform have completely fell apart after electing only 5 MPs seems to prove that they will never actually manage to run the country. I think Labour are safe.
I know a lot of sensible people that were voting reform. I think what is happening with Trump and the US has given them a glimpse into our future if we went down that road and it’s turning them away from the party now. They aren’t any less pissed off about how our population is swelling and I share these concerns. So for now, mainly the Labour Party but also the Tories need to take advantage and do something properly on immigration to catch these voters turning away from reform. It’ll only be temporary and in a few years they’ll be back to reform if this immigration crisis isn’t sorted out.

Yeah agree with you mate, but I just see the Tories as a dead duck at the moment, and no way am I voting for Lib Dems. Ed Davey did well at the last election and I like their approach to things, but the EU is always going to be the thorn in the side for me with them. So as it is at the moment, I can't see anything but Labour in the future, but I got one irritation with them, and that's how they pick on the elderly and the less well off, and it's getting on my tits, but they are the only party worthy of voting for at the moment, unless some other clown steps up. I think the only thing that could change that is if Labour tried to out Keir, I didn't like that with Boris and I will not like it if they do it to Starmer - soon as they change leader the goalposts get moved, and even if that was to the advantage of the old and less well off, I'd struggle with it, because you have to stick to your goals, and as soon as you don't, it demonstrates weakness. If you think something is wrong, then it shouldn't be managed by leader change but more by a bit of honesty.
I saw that a Tory member email went around the other day stating that "immigration is just too high" Can we take a moment here to collectively remember that it was the Tories that set the current trend on immigration after over 10 years of mass migration policies? Those guys have truly turned into a ****ing joke, completely fell apart after Boris got the sack.
The Tories done nothing to stop the amount of immigration apart from stupid policies like Rwanda which were never going to work. It was Tony Blair and Labour who opened the floodgates, though. ****s.
I'm an on the fence voter generally so can swing from one extreme to another, Tories are a dead duck, and Reform are just a bunch of jokers, a bunch of not very nice jokers at that. There is something about that Tice that makes me think the guy is a hidden psychopath, I don't know what it is with him, really ****ing creepy.
Don’t think I’ll be voting. I’m not drawn to any party, atm. Tories haven’t recovered and are still in limbo. Labour have been really poor, imo. They aren’t doing it for me neither. Never going to vote for the Lib Dem’s because they can’t be trusted on the EU, I’m with you on that one. It’s ****. I’ve never known it to be so bad.

That's a massive understatement imo, whilst Labour had high immigration under Blair/Brown, it actually pales in comparison to Tory immigration numbers. The Tories did the opposite of what they were elected to do in 2010. We have the figures, immigration under the Tories was twice as high as it was under Labour. The Tories after Brexit broke migration records. Because immigration = easy GDP increase and a big election strategy for the Conservatives was consistent GDP growth and lower debt, at the expense of controlled immigration and public services. I'm more centrist like brb and you are, but I'd struggle to ever vote Tory tbh
