A lot of problems of the personal independence payment: It’s easy to get signed off by a GP due to mental health There’s no longer the right support to get people back to work who are genuinely disabled – be it mental or physical Labour are right to look at it and they need to try identify: ways to fix it ways to control spending the right support to help people back into work However, the fact we still spend billions on housing immigrants in 3 star plus hotels whilst we will probably see genuine benefit claimants with little support having benefits cut and homeless people offered services via charities , is a ****show. The government contracts for ‘immigrant’ hotels are abhorrent - inflated costs signed off and not checked/reviewed. All government awarded contracts (Legacy and post Labour) need to be reviewed by an independent body for value and, where applicable, roi (for services provided). Uncontrolled government spending needs reviewed.
The Government spent millions on nudge units & other brainwashing tools to convince the entire country that if you leave the house or fail to take dangerous injections then you will literally kill your family . UK needs to copy the Nordics or Europe when it comes to healthcare provision . A sensible mix between ‘free’ public healthcare and private. It works well in Norway , Finland , Germany , Switzerland etc
It can’t be DOGE ie a billionaire making decisions but we definitely need an independent body - made up of advisors from various businesses, charities , service providers etc who can evaluate spending , contracts , bid work etc

It’s abused , no doubt . It’s use probably need reviewed as some cases are absurd (ie kid likes chicken nuggets , family hates *****s etc) But I’d we remained in it (and have it apply to us) than have our rights removed .
