Over 300,000 civilians were killed under the Assad regime, including by chemical weapons - the heads of security, army or civil were predominantly Aluwites close with, or even related in some way to, Assad Wow indeed ...
Anyway, back to the attacks that have just happened that we were talking about. The Alawites attacked the security forces which are seen as legitimate targets. The security forces responded by dragging women and children from their homes and shooting them dead. Not really the ‘Tit-for-tat’ that you described, is it?
Anyway, after Hamas attacked, killed and raped over 1200 Jewish people. How come the Israeli response isn’t seen as ‘Tit-for-Tat’
I see someone went and climbed Tower Bridge today, but all the media ignored him, because of the ship collision, so he came down.
Poor lad. He's probably devastated that people care more about Grimsby and the Humber than Palestine. That's a damn low bar not to clear.
I didn't see any flag this time, so can't be sure. He came down within 2 hours, so poor effort if he was but weather is going to start turning **** again, so not an ideal time to be wanting to sit over the Thames.
Mango Mussolini can get to ****. He’s clearly trying to destabilise and make Europe as weak as possible. Gunna be a rough few years with this MAGA lot.
TBH it's about time Europe learnt to fend for itself, it's a ****ing big place with millions of people and lots of money. We shouldn't be hanging off American tit all the time because in truth Europe is **** all to do with them, We wouldn't like it if they interfered with European politics and told us who to vote for but are happy to say please come and bale us out of the ****.
As I've said previously, NATO is going on 80 years old. It is long overdue a serious rethink and possibly even a restructure if not a winding down. It's one of those institution that once upon a time served a really important purpose so we still cling onto it.
I agree with your first line. Yeah we should be fending for ourselves more but they shouldn’t have just dropped us so dramatically. It could have been wound down. Don’t forget most of the countries they are dropping in the **** have been there to support the Americans enough times. That’s definitely a two way street. I didn’t use to mind, Trump. Now, I hate the ****er.
Thing is, we have a shared history because most Americans (other than the actual Native Americans) are basically all European anyway. It was European settlers who established what is now the USA, and other than the war of Independence, the US and Europe have always been joined at the hip and have always been allies when it comes to defence, trade and cultural values. We're also part of the five eyes agreement, and intrinsically linked when it comes to sharing intelligence, which is designed to keep both of our countries safe. And as has been the case for decades, we share military bases and have an agreement under NATO that we will defend each other if attacked. Whilst I agree that Europe needs to spend more of defence, Saf is right that Trump is trying to destabilise Europe because that's how he operates, he's thinks that making America stronger means making other nations weaker. He's doing it to Canada and Mexico and he's trying to do it to China too. The worrying thing is, he's doing all of this whilst enabling Putin, and I think a part of that is to try and force Europe's hand to spend more and to weaken Ukraine so that he can get his hands on their minerals. Our relationship with the US runs far deeper than what nonsense Trump thinks up when he's on the ****ter at 7am. The problem is, he is in power at the moment and can cause a lot of damage.
