Undoubtedly a great footballer but IMHO a complete ****er of a man. In his autobiography he admits he wanted to be allowed to break his contract to join Chelsea and was angry that he wasn't allowed to go. Then he goes on to slag off Levy for going back on his word when he broke his word ("a verbal contract") about selling him to Real Madrid.
Gutted when he left, but some of things you hear he said did turn it a bit sour for me. Shame. Cracking goal though...
