    You're dead right there mate.

Leeds had a home game and another away to a bottom half club ...

... we've caught up five points, on them, in a week.

    Who'd have predicted that.

I posted this in another thread, just my thoughts.....

I still think we can do it ( and in true evening chronicle style....here's how).

Leeds getting beat today has added to the pressure on the top 3. At present, it looks like there's 3 clubs for 2 automatic spots. The pressure will get to them, I've no doubt about that, all 3 them. Will they handle the pressure? I can see all 3 of them either losing a few, or drawing a few.
The pressure is pretty much off us now, a play off spot at minimum looks nailed on.

While Leeds, Sheffield Utd and Burnley nervously battle it out, as long as we keep our heads, and I've no doubt wewill, I can see us sneaking up behind them.

If we can beat Preston on Tuesday it'll be a massive boost ahead of the Coventry game which could be our toughest game left to play.....win/draw there and its game on for the final push.
Not bad for a bunch of kids and a rookie manager.

Thing about Patti is how he’s simply stagnated. Always been a cracking shot stopper, but has gone backwards in distribution and commanding the area. He’s costing us a goal a game recently making it tougher to win.

Also he’s 24 so not that young any more and needs to be better. Confidence must be shot, but he has been consistently poor last 4 or 5 games and his lack of command has been the heart of it

I think he needed to be stronger personally, but seen a still of the incident and 99/100 that is given as a free kick

On Leeds; beginning of the season I always felt they'd go through a bad patch, they did about this time last season. QPR butchered them. They've got a great squad and I thought they'd be fine for the title the way they beat us and Sheff Utd. Maybe it's unravelling again?

I'm watching our game now, Mayenda is wonderful. Our play in the first 25 has been really good, more urgent and decisive. Unlucky not to have 2 after 20 mins really. Night and day as to what we were like against Plymouth, Watford and Hull.

Mundle and Mayenda are very key. The way Mayenda plays is exactly what we lack when Isidor plays.

I'm no judge, but always felt we were stronger with Mayenda. Based that in no small part on season start so maybe more down to Mundle being available <laugh>

Its no disrespect to Isidor. They're very different. But Mayenda fits the home games a lot more.

I think a lot of people like a gobby keeper who organises the defence and makes it clear when it's his ball, that's virtually the opposite of Patterson. I don't mind his distribution not being top tier but he doesn't communicate clearly and it's costing us.

All he had to do was shout leave it the other day and that cock up with Roberts at the near post would have been avoided, for example.

That's a pretty fair assessment imo.

I've just watched the full 90 minutes and laughed at this notion some are pushing that we were good for 20 minutes and then struggled. It's nonsense. We played well through most of the game and 3-1 or 4-1 wouldn't have been unreasonable.

There seems to be a weird need to downgrade everything we do despite there being some excellent individual performances and some good football played. Once again there's this claim that we 'sat back and invited pressure' when the reality is that, in a losing position, Cardiff had absolutely no option but to attack.

We get more praise on opposition forums than we do one our own, at times, which is unhealthy imo.

Of course we're not the best team and the club hasn't spent multi-millions they could've ...

... all the more reason to be proud of the effort they're putting in and how they're refusing to give up.

Are you? Think 2 stone is an exaggeration, but he needs rid of some weight first definitely! I personally think he may cost us a chance at promotion. That is how strongly I feel.

Meslier is as thin as a lat and could cost Leeds promotion <laugh>

Don't think Neville Southall was the slimmest. Maybe he'd have even been better if he had been

My reaction would be 'So f*cking what?'

The players we currently have are all we'll have until the summer ...

... they're doing their best so take it or leave it.

Oh and, by the way, there's a very good chance we'll be promoted to the Premier League despite your expert opinions <cheers>

One of the great things about this forum is the wealth of different opinions and observations. It means you can re-assess your own views and see if they still hold under scrutiny or when compared to points you may have missed. Then you can choose to keep the original views, modify them slightly or bin them all together. 'Hands up, I got that wrong' kind of thing on occasions.
