Can’t see Patto being dropped (not seen today’s goal mind). I just don’t think they’d do it. I definitely would like him replaced in the summer tho

There was quite a few close range blocked shots, so difficult to say whether they would have been on target or not.

Agree there, we know the gaffer doesn’t like change. Not the right decision though imo. He’s been garbage for a while now.

Agree, but I'm more worried about our lack of left back. Two home games running now I've been reduced to a nervous wreck watching them both trying to drive forward, and ending up in a cul-de-sac

Think anyone questioning Roberts influence on our play needs to look at that game today. For 25 minutes we battered them could and probably should have been 2 or 3 up. As soon as Roberts went off we created very little. Yes we won thr game from a well worked set piece but from open play apart from the odd Mayenda burst we looked pretty toothless.

That being said a special mention for Mayenda today he was an absolute beast held the ball up well, tormented them with pace and power all day and took his goal very well.

Also agree about Jobe probably needing a rest not a long rest maybe even just being taken off more often maybe see a bit more of Aleksic as I like what I've seen from him in brief showings.

Also if Roberts is out for more than a few games it simply has to be Wilson and Mayenda together as they are such a threat.

Jobe plays every minute Billingham should’ve been hooked today. Struggling

We tend to speculate on the worth ( transfer fee) of Rigg, Jobe and Dan Neil....but what does anyone think Mayenda COULD be worth .....his stock is rising every game that goes by...A real gem of a player there

He needs managing better to make sure he's raring to go for the play offs. Would like to see more of Samed and Aleksic personally. Think Neil stays where he is as he doesn't look like he needs a rest but the other 2 midfield spots should be rotated between Jobe Rigg Samed Browne and Aleksic. Who knows we may even stumble upon something brilliant.

Biggest thing for me though is how well Mayenda has come on in recent weeks. First name on the teamsheet for me now. Probably after Neil and Onien tho of course

People were in the other thread having a go at me when I said he’s overweight, saying would the club LET a player be overweight.. as if it’s their choice. AC Milan have just put Maignan on a diet because he’s over 90kg. A club much bigger and better than us. It happens. I bet Patto is too. We have no other option it’s that simple. He has been poor for a while imo. Gets away with it because we’ve been fairly decent defensively.

Anyway, not making my first post after the match too much of a negative :emoticon-0102-bigsm Mayenda quality again, we have 2 very good strikers battling for the 9 now and I’d not be disappointed if either started to be honest. What a position to be in after last season when so many wrote him off. Isidor creating the most chances in the match with a half hour cameo. Quality. Credit to the scouting team because I hadn’t heard of either of them before we signed them.

Mr Le Bris made a mistake today putting Rigg on the wing. Its not open to debate. It was a mistake.
Could have put Mayenda on the wing and brought Wilson on for the middle. I do admit I like Mayenda in the middle with Wilson. Another option would have said to young Tommy get yourself on the RW and see what you can do.
Patto. One of our own or not once again command your box. That today, again was utter fkn w*nk. Thankfully his team mates got him out of jail with the winner.

At the end of the day we got what we needed but it wasnt pretty.

Some interesting stuff from todays game. You can see how crucial Jobe is, his defensive output is always amongst our top players. People can say his performances haven't been good enough but I strongly disagree.

Alan Browne on the other hand has not been good.

The next game is the one to give Jobe the rest he looks like he needs.
No chance of the yellow card and he can come back next week without that hanging over him.
Also, a chance to give Alexic a game plus more time for Browne.
It’s the obviousest thing to do.

Yep totally. Those charts show the stark difference between Browne and Jobe. The young lad is leagues better than him - even when he’s playing within himself (due to fatigue or more likely the suspension over his head). In fact I think Aleksic has cause to grumble about Browne’s recent game time, given what little we’ve seen from all that experience this season.

7/12 completed passes in 55 minutes as a midfielder in a side that is dominating the ball is really bad. Looks lost as the most advanced midfielder.

    harsh on Browne?

Alongside the forward in our 442 shape, different role and comparisons to jobe mute.
