Bournemouth v Wolves goes to penalties. Wolves player Cunha got himself sent off a minute or so before the end of extra time - totally lost the plot after having his shirt pulled in a tackle - lashed out with his fists, then headbutted - then argued with all and sundry on the touchline, before being forcibly pushed down the tunnel. Can't see him escaping with just a three match suspension.
Well Wolves threw that away - needing to put their fifth penalty away to win, they missed, then missed the next one.
One heck of a result for Arsenal. 7-1 victories away from home in the Champions League knockout stages are pretty rare...
I watched the game with Mrs Fez. Arsenal were exceptional and ruthless. Had another disallowed and a stonewall penalty denied. Reya had no chance of stopping their penalty. The final score could've been 3-11.
Very much so! Of course this had to be an American idea . https://www.theguardian.com/football/2025/mar/05/world-cup-final-2026-half-time-show-coldplay Guess it will be like the Super Bowl .
FFS, Fing Seppies! Need to see if I can get any tickets for games here, but think they are in Mexico City, Monterrey or Guadalajara.
I for one won't be watching - half time is preserved for replenishment of drinks/snacks, then making room for them in the toilet. If the half time break extends beyond the regulation 15 minutes, I'll be making my feelings known to FIFA in no uncertain terms.
BBC will show all the matches from the other home nations in World Cup qualifying . England on ITV of course . https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cj3nl3xm7mlo
A report into the 'fake football shirt' industry by The Athletic. Personally I think the police and authorities are targeting the wrong side of the argument - should be looking at why prices for the 'genuine' shirts are so high, and why there's an apparent need to change them every season. https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5419581/2025/03/10/fake-football-shirts-investigation/
Looks like Inverness are going to pull off the great escape after an impressive 4-1 win tonight against second placed side Stenhousemuir - a win that puts them five points clear of second bottom Annan Athletic. Had they not received that 15 point deduction, they'd now be in one of the promotion spots. I wonder if their fans will take notice and now start turning up to watch them?
Liverpool out on penalties. PSG might well play Vllla next and won’t be so written off by some of the British media ?
