Looks like we're going to hire Moyes to help Selles. https://www.goodisonnews.com/2025/03/02/hull-city-ready-to-hire-david-moyes-son-in-backroom-shift/
Hopefully it's just baseless paper talk/internet rumor as he's really not got a good reputation, in fact the last time I heard someone talk about him, it involved the words "bloody hopeless"
A guy with a ****e reputation as a scout rumoured to be joining our fabled brain team. Our transfer policy is destined to be ****e indefinitely.
To be fair, since Darnborough leaving, who didn't last long at Stoke, and Dublin coming in, things have look better so far.
Has it? I'd say our recruitment last season under Darnborough was by and large pretty good. Even the League One season was a lot of very shrewd business from him.
I’d be very interested to understand how much sway darnbrough had towards the end of his tenure here. Not to his detriment as I think things probably got taken away from him like
Was about to say. Summer 2024 was abysmal in terms of planning. Dublin didn’t assume duties until late into the window so most of the summer was spent without a Head of Recruitment. Darnborough was okay, I thought.
I think the "Darnborough is crap" thing started when he was first here, in fact it was initially inherited from what fans of other clubs said. It persisted for years regardless of how our recruitment really went.
I was not saying Darnborough's rein was bad, I was just answering Kalman who inferred the fabled brains teams, which included Darnborough, was poor, and it would continue to be so if Moyes son joined.
The brain team got considerably worse when Darnborough left and wasn’t replaced until the end of August.
