Psv we're ****evplaying our reserves and babies. Not in any way shocked. This arsenal have no forwards bullshit needs to stop. They have 2 forwards. No issue. They will get hammered by real or atletico next round
Hahahahaha!!!! I think of the generational span of terror that referees endured under Ferguson. Utterly comical. I mean Pep shook his hand far more vigorously than Slot and sarcastically had his say too, but this is Oliver, the new Webb, being supported by the actual old Webb. As always, the ref ****s up, but the PGMOL are the victims. I'll give it a week and they'll be saying the poor little Michael has had to take the weekend off because he's received so many hostile messages.
Referee reports to the Premier league included " If Liverpool don't win the league Michael Oliver is to be blamed" However, the Premier league commission saw that part as exaggeration .
Winning the CL league stage should had us playing the worst seeded teams, not PSG. Arsenal got lucky with the draw…..I guess they’ll think that they don’t need a striker (again) now
But psg were one of the worst teams in thr league phase. They were 15th and beat the team given to them in their play off easily. In general 9 to 16 should still go though that play off Psv were 14th, got through and were hockeyed What we have seen is a general lack of taking this seriously in thr big teams Bayern played woeful, they have leverkusen in a tight draw as a result. Losc took it serious and out everything in and ended up 7th. They drew 1-1 v dortmund. Imo they wouldn't have got through and old group phase. Man city were bullshit, got their asses handed to them by real as a result (who were also crap in the league phase. If uefa do it differently.in future then what grounds will they have? We were seeded 1st group so got 2 group 1, 2 group 2,, 2 group 3 gsme sand 2 group 4 games. Anyone seeded 1 and not being in thr top 8 were poor. Did real want to meet atletcio? Not a chance. Did bayern want to meet leverkusen? Nope. These ties will come up from year to year as some sides will be poor in the league but have enough to easily crawl into 24th and then just hammer a lesser side in a play off.
I see some mild controversy over skelly for arsenal (again) He was on a yellow first half and dived in and absolutely smashed another player and the ref just let him off. Massive turning point maybe but they were 0-3 down so the tie was all but over before arteta hauled the idiot off after 35min. I don't see too many gunning for skelly today unlike how they were lining up for Bradley against Everton. It's not only refs that are inconsistent,.it is the media agenda also
League cup final news 1. Gordon is appealing but nobody thinks he has any grounds. 2. Hall is out for rest of season with injury. 3. Isak is half fit. 4. Botman may be back to allow burns to paly lb, but it's touch and go. 5. Trippier has oap back issues.
You'd expect to get a strong side in the last 16 anyway under the old format. The difference this season is that some of the relatively weaker sides have come through, and if the likes of PSG and RM had played as poorly in the old format they might not have made it. Imo, it's too early after one instance to know whether it's a basic flaw in the format or just the vagaries of football.
I agree with all of this. It will be very interesting to see how clubs approach the league stage next season, especially us! As you say, it's too soon to make a judgement on the new format based on, what amounts to, one trial.
More league cup final news. Referee with be john brooks Var will be Darren screw you england. It'd be better to turn var off for this final thsn have thst lame duck in the box. Brooks sent vvd off when there was cover behind v Newcastle England is the gobshite who got the Diaz offside wrong. Set up.
According to Arsenal fans, off the back of their 7-1 win, they're clearly going to win the Champions League, plus the League, plus Eurovision, Big Brother, and Bake Off, that's how good they are. Nobody else stands a chance
It's very funny stuff. Rice straight after the game - we've been doing this for weeks, it was bound to click sometime... That's a strange kind of delusion isn't it
