My point remains. We can’t thrive alone, so do we thrive by bending over to a fascist sympathising lunatic ?
Think we all knew it wouldn't be easy if Trump got elected....but these last few days have been on a different level.
Putin simply MUST have something on Trump… rumours are rife he has, but it has to be some serious s hit for Trump to back Russia like this
its time like this that I feel Enya has the right idea, make £93million, buy a castle in the middle of Ireland and just ingore the world
Wish it was as simplistic as that… what happens across the pond has direct ramifications on the UK and Europe….. regardless of which party is in power
Of course, it has for decades.. But what can we do about it? They are the biggest source of aid for Ukraine in this war and I’m sure the people around the POTUS are far more informed on what’s going on in this war than us. I don’t think it’s a good look pausing their funding after their “heated” discussion because it looks like toys out of the pram but there could be any amount of reasons that we don’t know of that are the driving force. I’m sure it’ll work out. We’ve got our own govt whinging about a black hole, whinging about the country finances because of the previous government, people are on the bones of their arse yet we’re committing tens of billions of taxpayers money to the “defence” of a country that’s been on going for years now. What’s the plan? We can’t just keep giving Ukraine insane amounts of money to have tit for tat with Russia. I’m not for one saying Russia weren’t the aggressor by the way because they absolutely were but there needs to be a contingency or an endgame surely?
There's a long way to go before I can make my mind up, about any new government, but as there's only been one Prime Minister in the last 8 months it seems a little more stable than the last. The handling of the Ukraine crisis has been steady, so far, despite the obvious difficulties. Trump was worrying me before he took office and I knew that government would also be chaotic but this is worse than I expected. In fact, it's not a government, it's one man dictating everything and making snap decisions based almost entirely on his ego. That's much more worrying than what's going on here which seems more measured so far in my opinion.
