Well this war you are so eager for and fully back may go on so long your 8yr old gets snatched off the street and dragged into a van and sent to die. Maybe then you'll understand
Unlike your hero, Donald Dick, I would be roo old now and exempted on rather obvious medical grounds ... We won't be conscripting to send troops to Ukraine, neither will other NATO allies - will be regular army - and if I"d joined the regular army I'd have dine so kniwing the risks -. so your prattling is rather spurious nonsense
8 year olds aren't being dragged off the streets. This isn't Czarist Russia. I'm not eager for it and I don't back it at all. I'm generally supportive of Trump's plan not because I agree with it but because it might just bring an end to a horrible and totally pointless conflict that has been stuck in a stalemate for years wherein neither side can win but they also can't afford to lose. I totally disagree with Starmer's take on the situation because if he got his way, this war would go on for another decade with zero conclusion. The difference that you don't seem to grasp is that Ukrainian civilians are being conscripted to defend freedoms they enjoy or expect to enjoy directly. I doubt you've read Hobbes or Locke, but this underpins the foundations of any society. It is unfair to expect others to make sacrifices on my behalf without my contribution on theirs. So if my freedom is under attack, I either pick up a gun or I go to jail, simple as. Russia doesn't currently threaten my personal freedom which is why nothing compels me to go and risk my life fighting Russia. Similarly the Ukrainians fighting on the front line are certainly very noble and brave, but they aren't fighting to defend my freedom, so what compels me to go and join them? This is where Zelensky botched the whole press conference. The moment he implied that 'our fight is your fight' and openly said that if Russia wins, America will suffer next...that's where he lost the room and almost certainly lost Trump. Because he confused a moral argument with a political one and was simply wrong to do so. Nothing compels US soldiers to go and fight in Ukraine because their freedom isn't and will never be threatened by Russia. Zelensky tried to draw this threat and failed badly.
Served in the cadets….. Found a parade picture of you online. Thanks for your service. Those with experience will be the first conscripted by Starmer.
I don't see how Starmers approach is something that would result in perpetual war at all tbph How is a peace deal with the US supported by European peace keeping forces in anyway a suggestion from Starmer that he wants the war to never end? A big criticism I have of the Trump "plan" is it is entirely reliant on "Putin likes me" which gives you absolutely no support after Trump is no longer President. The US President is such a narcissist he cannot grasp he will one day not be in place and the war can just resume.
I think the point that's often overlooked here is that Ukrainians want to fight for their country, because it is an existential threat for them I could make the same point about Palestinians too, but I won't Far from the accusation that people here are Warmongers for supporting that, it's about supporting their right to defend their country.
