Based on what? Trump and Vance faux shouting about Zelensky’s alleged ‘disrespect’. It was a clear set up and ambush by the pair. For all their shouting what exactly did Zelensky do or not do that was disrespectful? Trump repeatedly telling lies and Zelensky sticking up for his country. For me, it’s pretty easy to see who was actually being disrespectful and it wasn’t the Ukrainian.

In that case, I’ll disagree. Why does Zelensky need to be replaced? His country has been invaded. His country is fighting the invader. He’s trying to get international support to help repel the invader. Some loud mouthed Americans want to screw his country over on a minerals deal in turn for providing support and trying to press him into agreeing concessions to the invader to end a war unilaterally started by the invader. He and his country don’t want to give concessions to the invader which would effectively reward the invader for illegally invading and killing his countrymen. The loud mouthed Americans do want the war to end so that they can then start cashing in on the minerals deal. For me, it’s not rocket science.

Ukraine have been looking at NATO for decades and long before Zelensky. Someone already mentioned Crimera in 2014 which then highlighted a more urgent need for NATO membership as a basic survival requirement. Putin reminiscing of the Soviet Union shows he is paranoid and nostalgic. No poking at all. Just a normal reaction.
I think it may be even simpler. Trump is an glory guy. I don't think he cares much about the minerals, I think he wants to be the guy that has Putin and Zelensky sat in the oval office signing a peace treaty while the world watches on. Trump has now realised that Ukraine won't sign it without a repatriation of the invaded territory and Putin won't sign unless he gets all 4 territories he wants. This feels like it may have been Trumps way of saving face from that failure. All in all that orange clown's ego has pushed a massive armed conflict between Russia and Europe much closer in my opinion
Regardless of whether you hate most politicians, the simple fact here is you're talking about rather different people - Trump is a malignant narcissist, Putin is a psychopathic dictator, and Zelensky wants to stop his country being slaughtered.
T Because an independent democratic country shouldn’t be allowed self determination and decide it’s own future. We should all just ask permission before any country decides what to do from the so called super powers to make sure we don’t upset them. That’s the way forward. Whether the Ukraine decide to apply to join NATO should be their decision and NATO’s decision and no body else’s. What on earth has it to do with Russia and Putin. Why don’t Russia invade Norway, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania or Poland? Relevance? They have borders with Russia and are part of NATO. Tiawan will be extremely worried today following Trump’s despicable behavior yesterday. If America is going to 180 degree it’s foreign policy for the last 80 years then what have China to worry about? The actions yesterday by Trump have so much bigger relevance than just Ukraine.

Looks like Trump has prevented ww3 and ended the invasion of Ukraine potentially. It was a tough watch the way they stripped Zalensky down, but I get the impression he needed to have acceptance of fate. It was ruthless, but that's how you get things done I guess.
True. That’s exactly what Trump needed to do to appease Putin. Give Putin exactly what he wanted and to sell out a democratic country in Ukraine. Gives a clear message to all other would be dictators and bullies. Do what you want and the USA are to scared to stand up to you and help protect the free world.
