I'd Imagine we would go with a Henderson-Adam combo, which doesn't fill me with confidence if i'm honest

I have a feeling Adam will play as a DM, then Shelvey will replace where Adam would normally be in the midfield. I'm not going to lie, I reckon we could get away with not playing a DM for the next 3 games and play a more attack minded CM. Because we need goals, and lets face it a DM is gonna get us goals.

#I'm thinking of a 4-2-3-1 with henderson and adam. I do not think shelvey is up to playing cm unless he's changed radically in the time with balckpool, i think he's played acm with freedom so i don't see how he can fit in doing a defensive job or in a 4-4-2.

I really don't know to be honest. we tried 4-3-3 v fulham and henderson really didn't go do a good job holding position to support johnson. after 10 mins fulham sussed it and had risse right up in johnson's face.

We'll see soon enough i guess.

Spearing.... you idiot... your one big chance and you've blown it. I epxect a DCM to be signed in january even if on loan.

The other question is what do we do with carroll cos where we play suarez and kuyt and downing and bellamy will impact on a 4-2-3-1.

I don't think Hendo should be in there, he does better when he is out wide. I can see the Adam sitting back and Shelvey in front, could possibly even go with the 5-4-1/3-5-2 we have played before, 3 cb's always staying home should be cover and you can tweek those 4 in front however best it suits you.

As long as he bangs them in for us then let's do it! Even if it is for like 3 games but gets us back on track!

    well how about something like

    reina (position under threat)
    johnson skertl agger enrique
    henderson adam
    kuyt shelvey bellamy
    Suarez

make a straight choice between maxi and bellamy....

kuyt in even though i don't like him and he's slowing down but we need him to help henderson out defensively

carroll out as he's not working hard enough.

i worry big time on that but the only other guy i've seen play dcm is aurelio and he was tosh plus he's not fit as per.... the one guy not talked about is agger.... If bloddy phil jones is good enough for utd then agger is more than good enough for us.

    No carra please.

    reina
    johnson skertl coates enrique
    adam agger
    henderson shelvey bellamy
    suarez

    now that would be interesting

Been thinking; I wouldn't play any of our current midfielders in that position, the only player who potentially could temporarily fill the hole imo is....don't laugh.....Agger; defencely solid, great positional sense, comfortable on the ball, able to bring the ball forward and can pass.

cool... i think agger could go do the job, its about positional sense and not charging out and leaving gaps. it'll be interesting to see what kenny does cos joey barton right now is rubbing his hands with glee at the thought of bullying us up and down the park

As someone else said somewhere, this is a position that would further expose Danny's injury frailties

After our LB problems last season, Kenny reverted to 3 at the back with the use of wing backs. I think he will do the same this weekend so there will be no need for a replacement because that 4th man in midfield will not be required.

I would like to see Coates, but think it would be Carra. What are you not convinced by?
